In this mod alone? About $125, not counting the second generation Katech short shifter that I installed two years ago.

What does the Tremec spring and Ball fix? I missed those when I did all the upgrades!

Look up the Anti-venom mod for the T56. The detent assembly utilizes a captured ball and spring to give you that tactile "notch" going in and out of gears. The force required to push past that ball and spring is dependent on the strength of the spring, the condition of the ball, and (mostly) on the length of your shifter. Most people complain about the additional force required to shift following the installation of a short shifter, but they don't understand what's causing that other than the obvious loss of leverage. Now you do.

Most of the time, when people complain about trouble shifting, the root of the problem is a transmission-motor misalignment (sagging motor mounts anyone?), but if they have a really short shifter, sometimes you really need to recalibrate the strength of the detent assembly by shimming it with one or two copper 13/16" washers. Finding a lighter spring really isn't an option, unfortunately, since the spring is an odd size. In some rare cases, that captive ball has gotten corroded or otherwise jammed in the assembly and won't spin any longer, which makes it even harder to shift than Tremec intended with the stock shifter assembly length. Emphasis on "rare." Since the parts are cheap, I figured I'd get in there and replace them while I have the transmission down.

By the way, I'm sure I don't need to remind you, but take the opinions you'll find on the Anti-venom mod with a huge grain of salt. Some of the people that are reporting success are masking major transmission misalignments, and some of the people that are indifferent or entirely pooh-pooh this mod have stock length shifters. This is truly one of those situations where the statement, "your results may vary" truly applies.

I assume the B-Quiet is to reduce shifter rattle. I now have a few pieces of RAAM mat on mine. It helps.

Seriously. Wow. Mine were bad, but nothing compared to yours. FYI, installation of the new bushings is a bitch without some sort of lube/grease.

Really? I typed "anti-venom mod" into Google and all kinds of images came up. Took five seconds.

Thanks for the pic - I was searching "Anti-venom T-56" and kept finding forum references but no good photos showing where it was at. This morning took out the "-" and the picture you showed popped up. Ah the nuances of searching...thanks for finding that and sorry for being tarded.
