I did this swap almost a year ago. Took me 2.5 hours by myself. I didn't remove any exhaust or the dipstick. What I did that (I think) is different than what others have done is that I disassembled the mount on each side, from the two aluminum brackets, before pulling them all from the car. This made it easy to snake the parts out w/out removing anything extra.

My "Blues" have been fantastic and we are so much happier with the car since installing them. It turns out that our mounts were blown since we bought the car with only 28k on it. The original mounts were totally torn in half and filled with dirt.

Has anyone tried the red ones yet?

I have the blue ones and will be installin the thermal shields. I am not looking for teeth shattering vibrations, but a little tickle on the end nose will be fine..

How are you meant to remove the inner-most bolt on the mount-to-frame connection? There's literally no way I could see to get a wrench on the bolt.
I'm right next door in The Grove, if your car was closer I'd shoot over to have a look. I don't recall having any trouble getting at those bolts. I did most of my work from underneath the car. Is the inner-most bolt the one farthest to the rear of the car? If so I can remember just reaching straight up from underneath.

The one I'm having trouble with is the upper left nut on a stud (if you're sitting facing the driver's wheel). It's pretty well fused on there and I don't have an impact in this ZIP code.

Are the bolts supposed to be torqued to a specific ft/lb, or just hand tight?

Re: Rev Shift Motor Mounts Install Writeup Tutorial

I did the revshift motor mounts this weekend while I was installing some Kooks Long tubes. I went with the blues. The stock mounts looked fine and the engine didn't rock back and forth, even my buddy who is a gm tech said they are fine. When i took them out they were toast, lots of rubber missing and the bolts moved around like a spoon in peanut butter. My car has 110k on the OD and is an '06

The new mounts are great, in fact my favorite thing I have done so far. They made everything so smooth and compared to my old stock mounts they ride so much better. I barley know the engine is on except when stopped then I notice a tiny shimmer sometimes but nothing that I would complain about. They took care of the vibration i would get at low speeds in reverse which I though was the flywheel letting go.

I was worried that because these mounts were poly the added vibrations would be bad as this is my DD. Not the case what so ever. Very glad I did.

    Just my 2cents.

    Yes. 37 lb-ft, IIRC.
Definitely not just hand tight, lol.

The trans mount is settling down a bit. Not as noisy but i still feel plenty of transmission and or drive line. Shifts perfect though.
