I am soooo glad I did not open this thread last summer. I've been wanting to do twins with my 418. Very nice work.

That exhaust/turbo assembly looks incredibly heavy. Have you weighed all of that?

Really? Because the stock catback is like 90 lbs, and the lightest catback (the Magnaflow 16636/16637) is about 60 lbs. It looks like you're running 1/4" plate steel there, which weighs about 11 lbs per square foot. My guesstimate was that your exhaust/return system weighed about 250 lbs not including the turbos.

    Re: my new project

are you talking about the charge pipe being steel? its 1/8 wall alum and maybe 17lbs on a bad day. my catback has no resonators or mufflers, or axel back piping of any sort.i also lost the super heavy stock cast manis for some nice light long tubes so all in all i dont thing the car has gained much if any weight.

the car should be up and running tomorrow after noon some time. ill post a little video for you guy here soon

    Re: my new project

and shes alive!!!! i got her running last night with vary little drama, a few little leaks and bs like that but nothing major.

took her on a 2 1/2 housr drive today and all seems to be good.

next step is getting her tuned which is what is proving to be the biggest pita. looks like theres no 3 bar OS for our ecus in hpt and i cant get a soild answer about if there is in EFI live or if i can do a ecu swap to a f-body one this can do a 3bar os and still have everything still work on the car

I believe you win the ultimate bad ass build award! How much boost are you looking to have? I believe you can do 2.5 BAR on the OE PCM, and scale it if need be to get where you need it. Worst case, I would think keeping the OE PCM for overall functionality and turning off every DTC so that you could actually run the car on MS3 (Mega Squirt) would be a viable option as a last resort. Hell, you can even control and stage your meth if you like...and it comes equipped with a 3 BAR MAP. Just a thought.

Hell of a good job man!

    Re: my new project

i think its only the newer e38/e40 ecus (58 tooth relocator wheel and 08+) can do 2.5 bar tunes

i know that most 99+ ecus can do the 3 bar os in hpt but for some reason ours isnt one of them

still cant find out if i can swap out the stock ecu for one the can do the 3 bar os tune and still have everything still work in the car[COLOR="Silver"]
