How so? Are you saying the quality of the finish is different or the actual finish itself is different?

Aren't they both machined / polished faces?

Re: Forgestar F14 Wheels Entering Production (6x115 - FINALLY!)

Maybe the fact that my 265/40/18 Pilot Supersports have been on backorder for the last two and a half months is a sign that what I really need are some Titanium F14's and 265/35/19, : 295/30/19's (!)

Have any of these wheels shipped yet?

Man, this V is going to be the death of my credit card! I *need* tires, my Diff recently started whining, and as long as I'm doing all that, it only makes sense to install some KW-V3's no?

Any opinions on the above referenced tire-size v.s. Playing it safer with: 245/40/19 : 265/35/19 ?

    ----------

Wow, is it just me, or do 18's look really small, at least on this Gen2 CTS:

I guess I can't say for certain until I have them both in front of me, but the GM assy wheels (I have now) look shinier than these finishes. At least in the pics I've seen,

I'll let you know when I get the new ones or at least take pics of both.

I have 295/30/19 Cont. DWS on the rear of mine with the LC855 wheels and no tire rubbing issues. Needed the Killernoodle arms for wheel rub though. You just can't drop the rear too low or you will rub the fender.

I sent Peter an e-mail a few days back to see about ordering, but he hasn't responded...

    Peter@forgestar.com right?

Also - Do the rear's have to be camered out to clear the fenders? (depending on tires?)

Just got the following response back @ 4:30 PM:

"I’ve responded to some of the emails but some of them wanted an exact date which we do not know but it will be here by the end of this month. We had to make changes to the order because some people wanted Brushed Titanium so that threw production back."

For anyone who did not get in on the pre-order, we sell Forgestar Wheels and can beat the $1680 price. Send us a pm/email and we will get you taken care of.

Are you aware of the fact that the first generation CTS-V has 6-lug hubs and that these wheels are special ordered?

There are literally only 20 6-lug sets in existence, and at least a dozen of those are already spoken for.

I don't know how you could possibly quote a better price on a product that hasn't been finished yet.

Fuzzy- We are a vendor of Forgestar wheels, we are looking for anyone who missed out on the first group buy and wanting a set. Special ordered just requires patience from the buyer because lead time gets extended a few weeks.

We also sell ADV.1 wheels which are generally all "special ordered" so our experience with wheels allows us to offer great deals to the community.

Re: Forgestar F14 Wheels Entering Production (6x115 - FINALLY!)

We confirmed with Forgestar today that we are able to sell the 6 lug specific setup for the 1st gen V (just to clear any confusion by Fuzzy's post). The delivery time is delayed compared to the most common wheel setups but truly worth it at the price we are able to sell.

So let us know if you are interested and didn't make the cut on this first run.

So one more time for the record......

What size tires are you all going with? Fronts/Backs?

Re: Forgestar F14 Wheels Entering Production (6x115 - FINALLY!)

I was thinking 245 or 255/40s in front and 285/35s in back. At 245/40 the fronts would be .1% different than stock and the 285/35 would be .0645% different according to the online calculator I used.
