    Forgestar F14 wheels imminent

Peter at Forgestar just sent me the following email:

    CTS-V 6 Lug Owners,
You are receiving this email because you have inquired about our new 6 lug Forgestar hubcentric F14 fitment. At this time we are developing a 19" F14 fitment for the 6x115 bolt pattern for the Cadillac CTS- V and STS-V.

We are planning to either make a:

    19x8.5 +35 Front
    19x10 +42 rear

    or

    19x9 +40 Front
    19x10 +42 Rear

If you have any more recommendations let us know. Let us know what you think of those offsets and width. We want to make sure the fitment is perfect before we start producing the wheels.

    --

Thoughts? Here's a shot of the deep concave version of the wheels:

    Linkage to more F14 finishes.

Interesting. I've followed up with Peter a couple of times, but didn't get this email. Maybe I'm ending up in his Junk box. That's perfect! He told me the first time I talked to him that we should expect a price between $1,500 & 1,600 for the set based on pricing for similar wheels on a Mustang. Put me down for some of these!

Thanks for keeping us posted, FL!

    Re: Forgestar F14 wheels imminent

By the way, the 19x8.5" Forgestar F14 weighs 22.5 lbs vs. 25 lbs for the OEM 18x8.5" CTS-V wheel.

I'm ready with cash in hand. I need a new set of wheels asap because I'm back to stockers because of cracking Linea Corsas. I'd prefer 9" wide fronts if they fit. Did you give them a little more offset to clear the trailing arms better?

    ETA?

No idea. I'm not in charge of selecting the wheels. The only thing I said is that I'd rather see the 9" wide fronts (like you said), and if at all possible, the deep concave version instead of the semi-concave version. Unfortunately, I doubt they'll go for it, seeing that would require a 9.5" front wheel.

I emailed Peter and told him I'm looking for 19x9s on all four corners.

Why not spend the extra $200 and get a set of Killernoodle trailing arms so that you don't have to worry about rubbing?

I'd like to see 19x9 and 19x10's available. Better yet would be to make both and offer two different sets. That way people can mix as they like. 9's all around, 10's all around or 9's in front and 10's in back. I like the deeper concave but fitting correctly is most important.

Do they have a test fit mule? If not, it would be nice if someone in CA rogered up.

I was told late spring, early summer so I take that as May - July ish. I'd be up for a set of killers arms too! I'd hope a rock hard 10 in base with supporting cleared meats (because of the arms) would up the grip significantly.

    Re: Forgestar F14 wheels imminent

These look fantastic. Has anyone tried photoshopping a pic of them on a V1?

I like the 19" Linea Corse Venetos, but for some reason, 5-spoke doesn't look 'right' to me on a V. The GM Accessory wheels look good, but need some more width to fill out the wheel wells visually, and the Mallett 6-spokes are too expensive. These should be a great combination of the best of all of those. Can't wait to see the first taker!

    Re: Forgestar F14 wheels imminent

Wheel color question: my CTS-V is infrared. Out of the available colors, would you recommend titanium, gunmetal, or matte black? I feel like this is a difficult application for *any* wheels because the CTS-V red isn't as bright and cheery as it should be to run black or gunmetal wheels, yet there isn't enough chrome trim to correctly set off titanium/hyper silver wheels. Here are a couple of pictures for reference:

    Last summer: before grille repainting.

Very dirty (rear springs compressed temporarily coming off jacks):

Another, more unusual option, is the two tone black/titanium wheels.
