I did that yrs ago, look up my old posts and you will find the sixe of the resistor, also the airbag sensor in the seat for passenger should be installed in the seat. Also grab some seatbelts from a gto so u can have a daily driver.

I should be gettin my car back from the body shop this week so i may get it started

    Naf and others:

Next week I'm going to have a shop install Recaro SRD's. I've ordered Wesco retrofit 3point seatbelts which will mount in the B-pillar. I'm exploring the resistor which will enable the old seat mounted airbags to be removed from the system. Also, we are going to try to move the original seat pressure sensors to the Recaros.

Has the airbag resistor been resolved by you guys? Can you review with me what needs to be done to avoid the airbag lights?

    Thanks in advance,
    Brad

airbag lights are easy to solve except for the one from the PPS (passenger presence system) - A 2.7 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor across each of the 2 side air bag wires and 2 seat belt tensioner wires (from the yellow plug) will allow you to clear the airbag codes.

Thanks jclayc! Have you tried to move the PPS to an aftermarket seat...this is what a local Recaro distributor has suggested so I will try this.

well.... I sold my stock seats before discovering the PPS problem, so I'll need to find/buy a new PPS to try moving it over. Even then, I've read somewhere that the PPS may be VIN specific???

I guess I'll find out next week and will advise. Also I'll check with an airbag company to see if there's a way to bypass the PPS issue. I'm going to PM you my # as it would be great to discuss with you.
