Diagnosed a misfire to find my lifters were the issue

Well, add another failure to the GMPP lifters. I had three out of 16 fail on me. Cylinder # 2 & 3 were the ones giving the most misfires.

We swapped the coils, wires, injectors, injector adaptors and sparkplugs but they continuously misfired. So i did a compression test and found the two cylinders had 1/2 the psi that they should have...

Opened the valve cover and noticed some of the valves were stuck.

Gonna take the heads off and check the cam for damage. Am looking for Morel 184-5206-HYD, and thunderracing is having a sale today for 10% off. However i am not in North america and will also need head gaskets, and new pushrods...

Am i to take 0.050 off my length like others are sayin, or is it less than that with YT 1.7s?

    eagerly awaiting your replies

Morels are the way to go. The change in pushrod length should be the same with any rocker as long as the current pushrod works with the existing rocker. The Morel lifters however, do have a narrower range of acceptable preload - just 0.030" to 0.050." The best solution is to install everything but the pushrods and then measure, even though that means more down time.

What I found is that the Morels like to be adjusted where they are just off the keeper (so they don't beat themselves to death).

Any farther then a 0.008" preload and I was throwing a check engine light (misfire code).

Did you install a "high lift" cam?

    OH SNAP!

I have length checkers, but this dreaded preload is just horror to me...

    I have a GT1-1, with 631/631 lift...

I am expecting a flood of emails from my guys today, but i have to wait six hours before it all starts
