I am going to chime in here.

First, Max, I am impressed with the kit that you have brought to market. Both you and Chris seem to really have put forth the effort to our community to make our cars better, and more fun. For that we are thankful.

I think a good question to ponder is: How much would it cost for the kit, if we supplied the 8.8. I personally would like to have an idea of what it would cost if I supplied a new 8.8 compared to a used one from a junk yard. That option might be a good one to have as well.

im really only interested in the brackets, because getting a 8.8 is really easy and cheap and i could have axles made cheap to so if you can sell just the bracket that would be KEY

Re: CREATIVE STEEL: CTS-V 8.8 Rear Diff Swap BOLT IN

Im so glad I bought the one off steel version so I am done with this whole dellema .

I feel a little sorry for vendors on here trying to help an outdated, limited production car.

This is a great product, I applaud you for going through the trouble of developing it.

Now if you can develop a bolt in application to run 10.5 rims in the back, I will buy the kit!

Not the pieces, not the design, but the whole damn thing, no delay!!!!!

There will be a greater demand for such kits when the V1 ages more and the OEM differentials really begin to fail.

Why do you think I am very happy Max has put this out there. There are about 8,000 potential customers out there for this kit. We all know our diffs will fail, and Max will be there to help when supplies run low.

Cool Re: CREATIVE STEEL: CTS-V 8.8 Rear Diff Swap BOLT IN

btw...what is the our stock diff. like 7 3/4" I am really excited to see Max making it happen..I am sure he will be kicking ass to supply us with the parts needed for a diy buying your own diff..When Max gets the bushing and driveshaft
situations solved, he will do great selling his kit by the piece...I think all of us want to save$$$ where we easily can and if the quality is as good as the black motor mounts and shields we will definetly be getting qualitythanks Max for all the time and effort spent

I agree...the more options the better. I do love my GForce 9" and driveshaft but understand that some want cheaper and true bolt in options.

    Keep up the good work!

I'll hold tight until Max gets his bearings after that verbal barrage

Good to see another option. I'd be really interested to hear if this gets rid of the diff clunk/slop also.

Max, don't take to heart a bunch of idiots on the internet. <- lol, myself included.
We just spent all our money on a big dumb fast Cadillac and are trying to see where we can skimp (remove the diff out of the equation) to get the price a little cheaper which is understandable. A lot of us can source our own 8.8's is all.
It does look like a sweet kit. People need to think about the fact that he did all the R&D on a diff option that didn't exist before this thread just like Geforce did.

Max, I applaud you for doing what only two or three other companies have managed in the 7 years since the CTS-V came out- produce a replacement diff solution.

Don't take any of the comments here the wrong way. This group tends to ask a ton of questions and "what if" scenarios, but I haven't seen many at all that are being mean spirited or rude.

Very exciting Max I'll be keeping up on your progress, strong interest here. Remember guys that a bolt in solution saves you around what $1500 in installation cost so around $2750 vs. gforce plus you don't have the down time. I see this as a potential weekend project full of beer and bbq just in time for spring.

Don't forget about a "cutoff wheel" on a 4" grinder, much more civilized in this situation than a torch. Welding will still need to be done, but with a correct fitting-well formed patch panel/frame re-enforcement it shouldn't be that big of a deal. The shock is what has me scratching my head at the moment. I'll figure it out....after all....it's not a diff swap.

Ok, for you guys out there that want to supply your own diff I will sell just the brackets for $600 + shipping. I have a pretty good feeling that that number won't make everyone that reads it happy. If you are one of those unhappy readers please feel free to dismantle your car or buy an extra sub-frame as I did to mock-up the 8.8 installation. If you are one of those that feel that is a fair price, thank you for appreciating the many hours that have gone in to the R&D to make it a reality.

Another note to the "unhappy readers" that are thinking of tackling this project on their own. At the very least you now know for sure that the project can be done, it will fit.

Operators are standing by, Have a good day to all. Max
