    What are OEM Shock options

I'm coming around the 70K mark and want to start looking at replacing my shocks. I know about the coil over option but would rather stick with an oem replacement. Is there any other brand other than stock cadi shocks?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

I'm confused, you want to stick to oem but are looking at other brands?

There are many shock brands out there that will fit the caddy.

For OEM (made under Sachs) you have 2 shock options. FE4 (softer) or FG2 (part of the performance handling package). If you had FE4s and want to stay stock I highly recommend FG2s.

I think he wants stock replacements made by the aftermarket. I would also be interested in hearing the options. Does Bilstein make anything for our cars?

sorry I think KYB makes a shocks for the regular CTS and will fit the CTS-V
other option FG2 but opinion on this board is "LOVE them" to "broke so I hate them"

Re: What are OEM Shock options

I had the FG2s and loved the feel but 1 leaked and broke after just 30k. I don't race and don't really drive hard and I try hard avoid any pot holes so I am not impressed with the longevity. That said I would still have the FG2s if I could have purchased just 1 replacement however they are sold in sets and run near a grand. So now I'm giving the mushier FE4s a try. 20k and counting now...

Lots of options then. Just need to find one the right length. QA1s, KWs, KYB, Penske. Others you'll need to investigate. The problem is the rears. We have a strange mounting bracket and coil-nowhere-near-shock setup so your options are a bit limited.

Fronts are pretty standard coil-over shocks. I'd imagine you can find them from any of your select shock manufacturer.
