    Spectre CAI

Guys, Need a V1 (possibly 2) for Cold Air Intake package development in So Cal.
1 06/07 for sure and maybe an 04/05 (although they should be the same) Spectre needs the car(s) for a week in Ontario(?) and be prepared to pay for ,at least, package materials. Please contact George Luna @ georgel@spectreperformance.com
I am unable to commit my car for a week but will purchase when finished.
    Good Luck, Jeff

    Lolerz.

BTW OP the only difference in the 04-05 and 06-07 intake is a fresh air "port" for the passenger valve cover (on the 06-07 and not on the 04-05). TB OD Is the same between the 78mm and 90mm.

As has been pointed out, the LS2 CAI tube includes a crank case vent fitting that is not on the LS6 intake. For this reason, there is only one aftermarket full CAIK that is a true bolt on for the LS2. It is made by K&N. Spectre should probably keep this in mind when they design the kit. I would just design one kit with a plug for the LS6 guys.

Bonus if it is a closed box (volant type) so no heat soak....

Thank You, I am forwarding your responses to Spectre. Please don't inundate him with all of this.
The LS6 plug is a great idea. As for heat soak, being sealed on top by the hood will do the
job and allow for better maint.(obviously not much required) They are trying to keep these reasonably
priced and tooling for another rotomold piece is pricey. IMO, all of the kits out there are ridiculously priced for what you get.

k&n kit is supposed to seal on top by the hood but I've read lots of complaints about heat soak with them. That is sole reason I did not pick up the k&n kit.

Pretty sure the Spectre unit will use alum or ? for the deflector in the compartment. As long as the box/deflector is sealed against the underside of the hood a little dynamat on the engine side will work wonders.

Come on Guys, Nobody wants a free CAI for their So.Cal V1?? George says no-one has contacted him yet. Even if you have to take it back off for smog free is worth it. The first ones will probably not be CARB approved burt how long can it take to change it out?

Tried offering that, even offered car for 3 days while I was in LA this week. No Go!! They claim to need it for engineering and testing in house. I guess, having a car there allows them to make sure ALL is right. Makes sense to me. Guess i need to keep looking. I can't believe the So Cal Coffee guys can't step up.
