    BMR Brace for LS2?

Anyone try running one, they don't advertise it for '06-'07 and from what I've read it won't fit over a maggie(neither will the LS6). Does anyone know if it has more clearance then the LS6 bar and would it be enough to clear an LS2?

Stock front strut brace on '06 & '07 is great, fits over a maggie and much improved over "04 & '05.
Why would you want a BMR brace on an '06 or '07??

Mostly for the eye candy, and to dress up the engine bay.

X2. The most I'd consider doing is maybe putting an LS2 badge on the OEM strut bar. I like its relatively "understated" look. IMO the best thing you can do to make your engine bay look good is keep it clean.

Dibs on your LS2 brace if you swap it out for the BMR. (I am bar-less since Maggie and ebay NEVER has LS2 bars).

If I find out the BMR fits I'll let you know.

Don't waste your money on the BMR if you've got an LS2 brace. The LS2 brace is much improved as previously stated, and has more clearance over the intake.

There is an LS2 badge on there from the factory.

To the OP, I was under the impression that any bar can be put on either car. I don't think they raised the LS2 brace up because the engine needed more clearance. Rather, the LS6 bar is sort of poor. You can't even get the engine cover off without removing it, it's in the way for just about anything you'd want to do under the hood. I have heard the LS2 bar has one more bolt per side holding it down, but I always assumed the other bolts were in the same spot as on the LS6 car. I could be wrong about that, though.

Your post intrigued me, though. I searched for the bar to see what you meant about the appearance. I like the "V" logo on there instead of the "LS2" badge. As I now have 'vette FRC's that say "LS2", a V emblem would look pretty nice on the STB.

I might just pick this up from Summit. I've always had good luck with returns, I'll just have to pay shipping if this doesn't fit.

[QUOTE=Aurora40;2509841]There is an LS2 badge on there from the factory.QUOTE]

True and Not true. My car did not have the LS2 badge on it from the factory. It was on the plastic cover.
I placed it on the strut bar and added chrome flames.
I have seen many '06s & '07s from various dealerships.
There does not seem to be any consistency on wheather or not the badge gets place on the strut bar or on the plastic engine cover.
It's always on one or the other, but no reason why. ??

Yeah, mine definitely does not have the LS2 badging on the STB. It may soon, however.

    Re: BMR Brace for LS2?

Huh, how weird? Thanks for the clarification.

Also, thanks for those pictures Tommy. I just installed a catch can yesterday, and was surprised I had to trim the 'vette FRC in the corner. Looks like you did too. I don't think people with 'vettes do, or at least not the photos I saw? But since mine are all cut up anyway, it's hardly a big deal.
