    Clutch Suggestions

    I have been reading the reviews on the different clutch/flywheel options but there doesnt seem to be any clear cut choice. I currently have kooks, magnaflow, cai, shifter, next mod will be a maggie, but that will be about it. What do you suggest for the best balance of driveability, performance and ease of install. Thanks

    ID say the LS7 if your on a budget and dont plan to drive it hard every day but not a lot will agree with me. If you wanna spend the money get a twin disc like RPS, Mcleod, Exedy.

    I ran an LS7 for 1.5 years and beat it up every time I drove it. There were also about a dozen track days and a few trips to the drag strip mixed in there. It held up just fine with over 400 rwHp. Just break it in properly, I didn't the first time and the pressure platep was gone in a month.

    I've been reading all the clutch threads. Didn't need one, just teasing myself I guess . They all sound good until......
    I just notice a lot of people swapping out there aftermarket clutch with the newest, greatest thing.
    The LS9 twin kit sounds great. But it's $1300 plus slave. It will work with a stock slave, but it's advised that you change it when you have the transmission out of the car.
    Then there's the LS7. Luke has them complete for about $650.

    I just ordered an LS7 clutch with an aluminum flywheel. With the alignment tool it was $583 shipped, but I will need to get an LS7 slave. And always get a remote bleeder.

    I would have stayed with my LS7 on my new motor except it fell on the floor. I'm sure it would have held up to my abuse with over 500 rwHp. least for a little while.

    I have the Monster Clutch level 2 and love it. Perfect for daily driving and will hold 500rwhp. I believe they are around $750 now.

    I recently bought Katech's LS9 clutch kit.

    Just got the American Express bill last Thursday.

    '05 CTS-V, Maggie, Kooks, Hotchkis, Ground Control, Corsa, B&M, DSS/Hendrix, Full 3M Clear Bra, Autovation, V Headrests, CTS Console, STS-V 55w Fogs, Black Vette FRCs, Specter Werkes, Katech LS9 Clutch, SS Brake Lines, Heavymetals U-Turn Fuel Line Eliminator, Momo Combat Evo Shift Knob, Wldwhl Clear Sidemarkers, Linea Corse LC855 Wheels, plus a couple more. Mustang dyno'd at 472 RWHP/411 RWTQ.

    I'd say Monster Stage 2, or a Twin Disc setup.
