Muffler Delete Soundclips - Before and After

I had the muffler delete done on the CTS-V, probably one of the best bang for your buck mods I can think of; not for performance, but the sound and look of the 4" chrome tips. It just looks and sounds MEAN, but not too loud or obnoxious. A very smooth sound, very much like a mangnaflow, with no raspiness at all. I used summit brand 2.5" - 4" tips. $25 each!

    Before and After....

Bro - you have inspired me! That sounds incredible. I have too many other expenses right now to drop $700 on an exhaust. Any more details? Did you you just cut out the mufflers and weld or clamp the new tips in place?

Me too. I have had my magnaflow tips sitting in the garage the last month trying to decide whether I wanted to do the muffler delete. I guess I will pull the trigger. Thanks for the vids.

I took the car to a shop that could weld new pipes in place. What they did was cut the mufflers off right between the back of the muffler and the hanger that way they wouldnt have to use any hangers on the new pipe, and bent up and welded a pipe, and welded the new tips on. Tips were $25 each from summit racing, rolled tips, 2.5" to 4". make sure you keep the stock resonator because it takes all the raspiness out of the exhaust, and sounds 10x better than removing the resonator and putting in an x-pipe like others have done on here (see the poor-mans mangaflow).

    1. And what does it sound like at 1800 to 2200 RPMs on the interstate?

    2. Any drone or objectionable noise that would interfere with normal conversation in the cabin?

1800 to 2200 RPMS it has a light hum, you can carry a normal conversation without a problem.

Honestly the loudest the car really gets is at like 1300rpms (deep rumble) and 2700rpms to 3100rpms (absolutely roars). Other than that it isnt bad at all.

Yes, tell them to cut RIGHT BEHIND the muffler, and right in front of the hanger, then weld a straight pipe and put the tips on. Very simple.
