I ran XR-1 (I think it was the sportsman) race mufflers on mine before, sounded very nice with an x-pipe. Only reason I took them off was for a B&B upgrade.
I didn't find them loud enough.
I used to have XR-1s, and now have ProXS mufflers on my Mustang with long tubes and a Dr. Gas X-pipe. Not sure how much difference there is between the ProXS and XR-1, but they both sound fantastic IMO. Plenty loud in my case, but that's partly due to the resonance created by the long tailpipes after the mufflers on a Fox Mustang.

i was runnin the 4" in and out oval muffler and slapped on a 5" tip....
It was a Massive job but too loud for me.
In the end i got a corsa 3" catback and i added a 3" resonator for low RPM drone...
