I don't think that's a Katech, although it might be an earlier design than the one I have..

If you look at the tapered shaft going to the top, UUC is not like this, there's is straight, if someone could verify.. but looking at UUC pics, the larger cylinder is straight not tapered smaller near the top. http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/CTSV/USSCTSV.htm
The other and MOST important way to tell the difference is Katech was cheap and makes you re-use bushings and sleeve where you connect the shifter to the fork for the transmission. UUC was smart in integrating (with urethane bushings) for this cross - bolt. - probably where the higher price comes to play.
