Could this be a reason my belt sometimes rides up on the pulley rim?

I know my memory's bad, BUT,,,,,,,didn't you say you had Brian send you the tensioner bracket, and when you got it, you realized you already had one on the car?
WELL??!!!!
I have it......in a box somewhere. Still no problems though.
I'll take your belt slip over my questionable bearings anyday

I'll take your belt slip over my questionable bearings anyday | No, I don't have this on my car ... sort of wish I did. And, yes, just over two years ago I talked to Brian about getting the latest-greatest updated tensioner when mine kept riding up, and what he sent me was the same thing I had. (Dang! You've got a good memory!)
What I'm wondering about is could this solve my problems? (Well, that one, anyway. ) Sort of busy right now, but I might make some time for it before the snow flies.
And, finally, Tony, what's this about "questionable bearings?" Still? WTF gives?!! |

Maggie's actually running great (so is the rest of the V). It's just something that's a bit of a concern, with all the bad units from last year.
BTW you have to try a second gear burnout. Crazy smoke |

I installed my little bracket thingy and have never had a belt issue.

What Brian sent me was the tensioner pulley/bracket itself. I dunno when I got this little bolt thingy; must've come with my maggie and somehow missed my keen* eyes. So, you guyz have this thing on now?!! Where the heck have I been?!!

Put that sucker on! |

That bracket was the very last thing I installed. A real PITA to get your fingers and a wrench to fit down there behind the tensioner. |

Mine was one of the very early ones and I didn't get anything like that. However, I'm also running the early 3" pulley and haven't had any belt problems (in over 40k miles use.) |

Age: 45 | | | Re: Which Maggie Guyz Has One of These? Mine was an earlier unit also, and did not have this tensioner. I made the call and should have it next week, good for me, as I have slippage issues even after putting a new Gatorback on a 2.8". Thanks for the information, this is yet another reason this Forum is one of the best on the Net. |
