Smile New trans mount (wow!)

Remove this ad
Hi everyone, I'm back and with great news. I was fortunate to recieve a E-mail last THURSDAY from Creative Steel informing me that I would be recieving
a prototype tranny mount to test and give feedback before they go into mass production. I had it shipped to the shop I work at but, unfortunate we were closed Sat. so I had to wait until TUESDAY when we reopened to even see or install the mount. And I did, about a 25min. R&R. I did not expect to
see a big difference seeing that my tranny mount was in good condition. Boy
was I wrong, my driveline clunck is to a minimum 90-95%, my shifting has improved to 100% the shifter just falls
into every gear with ease even reverse
with added torque and horsepower,1st,2nd& 3rd has never been so fun.
I done a few burnouts to see a difference 2 out 3 my car stood almost still
while the wheels just spun(vids to come). My car feels like an automatic when I shift gears now, as well as being slung back into the seats with
every power shift. Taking off has been a blast, the car pulls like a monster
truck. My wife & kids are out of town, so SATURDAY when I get off I plan
to make some new vids & attend the dragstrip and get footage there as well.
Hopefully it will rain again this weekend so I can get vids in the different cond
itions that you requested. If any of you decide to go with Ceative Steel install
the motor-mounts first, drive it a few days to see the difference in stability
& power gains, then the tranny mount to see the total difference and power
gains. I garantee you will be amazed & pleased as I am

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

What is this mount made of? Did it increase any noise or vibration in the cab? I think everyone will be definitely interested if the claims are verified.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

Why?

I can't see how in this chassis, a trans mount could make any kind of differnce at all. Least of all, a significant one. Are you sure it isn't the placebo effect kicking in?

how much did they pay you to do that write up......? extra hp and torque? dyno proven numbers? sorry if im a little rude but it all sounds a bit exaggerated.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

PlatniumCavette is selling pipe dreams, and watered down snake oil.

i could do a 6k dump in the same sand covered pkn lot he did, (in his
motor mount vids) & my car won't wheel hop either.

i don't like conn artist, or people who dangle transparent carrots in front of these "hungry hopping bunnies". ie: gullible forum readers.

one should not be color blind in this area, as it's guys like this
that milk the country dry from an 'irresponsible lifestyle', and all that implies.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

I can see poly mounts being better than the rubber mounts, probably help with shifting too. I know the engine mounts helped in that area.
Now that I have my motor mounts done, I can feel the transmission move when I go over speed bumps faster than I should.
I've been under my car and the OEM trans mount does look ok, but I'm sure it took a beating considering how shot my motor mounts were.
While I do think the OP is over the top, I still think the poly mounts are benificial.
In theory if the rubber bushings are allowing the tranny to twist you won't be hooking up as fast at the rear(same with all the other rubber on the driveline) so I could see that helping.
After doing my motor mounts and diff bushing in poly I don't have any driveline clunk that's audiable.
My main thing now is getting my tranny solid, hopefully it will make shifting a tad easier. The motor mounts already made going into first and reverse go in like butter, but since then I can feel my shifts into second feel like the tranny is bucking back at me(even bled the clutch recently).
Also want to get rid of the movement when going over speed bumps.
If it helps I will let you guys know. Mind you mine are UUC not Creative Steel, probably same sh*t different company.

Oh ya I can't tell you what a difference any of it made regarding wheel hop, I have Hendrix axles and have recently added washers to my rear craddle mounts, so I had no wheel hop before the motor mounts and none after. The washer mod was just to get rid of any chatter I had left, and I think it worked, so far so good.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

I also installed the Creative Steel MM and while it did die down the shutter at idle and when its turned off, it DID NOT get rid or help the wheel hop issue. I didn't see much improvement in acceleration either. Don't get me wrong the MM are nice for what they fixed (moving motor), but it doesn't do anything else! I would expect the tranny mounts to do about the same, make the tranny not move as much. That is about it....Sorry for rant, but I was looking forward to what people were raving about with the MM and got shot down...

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

First off VfReaK I have nothing to gain by telling you a bunch of BS, second I
wasn't expecting to get anything free from Creative Steel I would have
payed for the tranny mount just like I purchased the motor-mounts. I don't
appreciate you calling me a liar, obvisously you need some glasses, because
if you watch the vids you can see straight pavement. And yes I notice hp & torque gains, I know my car and know how it drove before and how it drives
now. I'm located in Greensboro NC, if you know of any Dyno-shops close to
where I live, I would gladly go to prove to you my claims, and if I'm right,
meaning if my car (stock) produces more power & torque would you be willing
to cover my cost. Like I said I have nothing to gain but lots to lose
like credibility in this community(forum). Thats why I said I will have vids this
weekend, because the tapes don't lie and neither do I. What lifestyle are you
reffering to. HATERS like you just give me more reasons to prove you wrong
and keep the site interesting. Do me a favor and KEEP HATING, I need a
hundred more like you it keeps me motovated.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

I understand the concept of motor mounts and how stiffer ones can improve feel but them adding power? Come on now. It may feel better to you but in no way possible did you GAIN power.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

But, they could get you more power to the rear wheels, hook up faster. Adding power that isn't there? ummm no.

Re: New trans mount (wow!)

The only thing I can think in terms of 'adding' power is that the mount could very slightly reduce the energy lost through the drivetrain via vibration and soft mounts.

You don't add power per se, but you might lower the percentage of power loss from the crank to the wheels by tightening and shoring everything up.

With something like a trans mount though, I can't imagine that it'd be anything noticeable.

That's what I was thinking, I know the motor mounts make a big difference because when worn the motor can literally twist which takes tq to do, but I dont know about the trans if the motor is solid...
