Looking forward to what you come up with for the drive shaft. Quote:

I did mine without lowering the exhaust, just had to wrestle it abit to get the old one out, getting the new one in was a snap. |

See how it compared to my UUC, and stock one. |

I sent him the first mount so I could get some fast feedback on the fitment. His mount is structurally fine but it is kinda ugly, which is why I asked for no pictures. SkullV's mount isn't even as nice looking as the newest ones. The new ones are looking good. Any bubbles you see in the pictures of our mounts are strictly on the surface, all of our urethane is vacuum degassed to remove air bubbles before going in the mold. Air bubbles weaken the strength of the urethane which why it should be degassed. This is the conclusion of "urethane 101".

I was concerned that there was still a mechanical connection between the chassis and the transmission in the event the adhesive failed. Glueing the engine or transmission to the car is not a gamble I wish to bet on. I'll wait for the pictures.

On the stock V trans mount the factory relies on the adhesive value of the urethane to connect the upper and lower brackets of the mount. Even they know this is a lousy design and is probably why they put the "positive stop" in there. We do not rely on the glue factor of the urethane. CTSV154 said it the best "There is something in there". |

That would be quite a nice upgrade to keep the ring and pinion from banging on each other. I wonder if that is a cause of so many differential seal leaks. |

I tried to install mine today but fiddled with it for probably 2 hours and couldn't jack up the tranny enough to clear the studs so I couldn't get it out. I couldn't go any higher because my exhaust was hitting the bottom of the car. I was going to try to unbolt the lower brace, just 4x15mm bolts but I didn't have the large torx needed to get the very sides unbolted. Anybody know what size that torx is?
Maybe when I install the motor mounts and take off the headers the exhaust will sag low enough for me to jack up the transmission further. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
