So, Thomas......is the flywheel you sent me a LS6 flywheel then?

I need to figure this stuff out so I know how much of a spacer I'm going to need. (hopefully before I tear it all apart)

There is no such thing as a ls6 ,ls1,ls2 flywheel. There is an ls7 that has a raised section for the pp ,then Theres all the other flywheels that bolt to a ls crank, the ls7 is the odd ball, everything else is the same,im sure i told you months ago that i do not see were the ls7 slave comes in,we use the regular f body slave for the gto wethier there putting in a ls7,spec,act,mine,etc,etc.There has never been one mention of an ls7 slave in the gto crowd,f body etc.I dont see where that trany would be any different than the f body, gto setup.

Must've been a communication problem then. I thought for sure you told me it was a LS7 style pkg. Sorry if I misunderstood

Ok then, which slave will I need to make up the difference between the dual mass and the new flywheel Boss? Or is this where I get an LS6 slave and use my monster .970 spacer behind the slave?

I really want to be able to install this right after I take it out and not have my V sit around on stands while I search for the right parts.

There may be another risk here too. When folks first started installing aftermarket clutch components in these cars there was a lot of confusion about the spacing issues. Some landed on component combinations that would bolt together and even seemed to work only to self-destruct (dramtically and at great expense) in a few miles.

I wish I knew more details about these clutch component differences - but I don't and I know the last thing you need right now is misinformation.

i fail to understand how we can have a similar trans, engine and clutch system yet every other gm vehicle seems to work ok going from clutch to clutch while we are the odd ones out.

How is it that GTO people can run a f body slave yet we supposedly cant. Has anyone even tried using a setup from a f-body or gto yet to test it out?
