There is a sweet part that has come up for sale. This is a Nitrous fogger setup for LS3 heads (see pix). This used to be on that 414 c.i. CTS-V in the Dallas area.
My questions for all the motorheads out there are:
Could I even make this work with my stock LS6 motor? If so, what exactly would I have to do to make it work? I am guessing I would have to get LS3 heads to make this GMPP single plain intake work on my motor...Would it be worth it to do this and have a complete nitrous system installed in my car to hold me off until I go bigger cubic inches with the motor (thinking 408)? Right now the seller says this fogger is setup for a 200 HP shot. That would be way to much for my stock motor I would think. I would be happy with 75-150 HP shot.
Guys, let me know your thoughts on this. This is such a beautiful part, and I have always be intrigued by NOS, and I have already made the decision that if I go all out with my motor in the future, I am going to stay N.A. so this intake could stay on the motor.

For a 75-100 shot that is a big old waste of money. You could just get a nitrous plate kit. Now if you wanted to run a real big shot or a dual stage I could see you being interested in that intake.

Or even just a H/C on my motor with better internals? Then I could realize the full potential of the big 200 shot at that point, right?
I'm not really interested in running a regular nitrous setup, I just thought, with the right motor underneath it, this would be a really unique one-off part that would make my car run like a raped ape when I wanted to. I don't even know what the guy is asking for this part? His ad says best offer, so maybe I could get it for cheap. I wonder how much something like this usually would cost? |

If you are planing to upgrade I would still not get it. If you ARE going to upgrade then go for it and run a dual stage. 200 shot on the fogger and 100 dry shot from a nozzle (just what I would do). Here is an example of a nicely done fogger setup with intake and a price. I know its not the same, just an example: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/nitrou...rt-4-sale.html
Also a full direct port kit with no intake: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=3419 |

I think you're getting caught up in the cool looks of that thing instead of considering how well it fits your needs. If it was that great, it would still be on his car. There's always a reason something is for sale.

The intake ports are cathedral on the LS6 and square on the LS3. The bigger bore is needed for the LS3 heads. Not the intake. The combustion chamber and the way the valves are setup require a min of 4" bore to run the LS3 heads.

If this is for a LS3, then you will need L92 heads and a 6.0 min...This is a setup that is USELESS for it rubs you of power due to the heat absorbant. As well as pure WEIGHT...
Most people runnin FI use it here due to the "balanced" runners....I just see a lot of weight and metal for nuttin...Looks nice, but thats about all it will do...
If i were you do a stroker, and get the L92 heads with FAST LSXR intake...More power to be found there....Probably cheaper in the end as well.... |

Naf, you must just have been blind and missed the nitrous fogger setup. The purpose of this intake for nitrous is to equalize distribution/atomization and prevent puddling. It is also a heavy gauge metal that will not crack under the rare occasion of a backfire. You're right though, NA this intake would suck. |

I appreciate you all sharing your knowledge. I don't think this would be a good idea now that I know more about what it would take for this to work. |

It DOES look sweet though
Easy to see why you were drawn to it.
