So who won the "Lowest Average Mileage During a Session" award? I got down to 7.2mpg during the last event I attended in the PacNW earlier this year.

Any of the more experienced guys have any idea what sort of lap times they were turning? I know it's not a timed event, but I always end up timing myself off my in-car video to see where I'm picking up and losing time as I try different lines.

Checked it at V-Day I. Surprised how high it is. I thought it would be like 2mpg . I don't get much better mileage from everyday driving

Pisnuoff was running around 1:30ish. I think he was the only one with an "official" timer.

State Farm is covering HPDE track days until policies that are renewed in what I remember as September of this year, so as long as you renew before September you are good until your next renewal. That being said if you crash on the track they will cover it and drop you right after.

I was shocked. I average 12.5-13 mpg in commute traffic/city mix and if I get hwy in there at all it'll jump to 14-15. My "info" center had been reset just before the event b/c I had to have my alternator replaced so I was actually watching the mpg to see what it did.

At the end of the drive out from D.C. I had an avg. mpg of about 14.5 and it only dropped to 13.5 at the track. Given that that's an average taken over less than 200 miles, it should have dropped more. I think its b/c you're not stopping out there. Though, I'd be surprised if actual mileage was much better than 7 or 8 on the track.

Later today, I'm going to try to upload the video my wife took of the Green group during the first after lunch session. A couple of the segments were more than 2 min so if you can figure out which car's yours those of you in that group might be able to calculate track times.

You tube! One can upload it from there either on their own computer, if you don't mind

    Re: Show Me V-Day III!!!!

As for times, I picked up an average of 7 seconds over my October outing. My main goal was to listen and learn and hopefully drive the track without destroying my tires. I did accomplish this and got faster... go figure.

This is my left front after V-Day II. As you can see, it is basically destroyed. This tire was less than a week old.

This is the replacement that Goodyear was kind enough to give me, They said no tire should look like that after only being on the car for 800 miles. Anyway, this is after V-Day III.

I think the track walk was an invaluble resource for learning how to drive the track. I didn't miss having the cones at all.

Here are some more of my pics from the day. As some others have stated here, once things got rolling there was little time for documention.

Smooth is fast. Picking up 7sec per lap on a roughly 90sec course is pretty damn impressive - well done!

Maybe it looked worse in person, but that looks pretty normal for a street tire after a hard track day. Most of my track days have been on R-compounds, but I've done a number on street tires, including on all-seasons, and they generally looked like that after a couple days of hard runnin. All that rubber that was squished over to the edge of the tread blocks would've disappeared in short order and the tire would've lived a long, happy life. But, can't hurt to get a replacement for free!
