    borla baby!

    I listened to many clips and asked way too many questions about exhaust. I went with my instinct and got the borla and put it on today. Like my old c5, zero regrets. It sounds deep and awsome and added virtually no cab noise and is the throatiest I have ever heard. If looking, I recommend the borla. Spring for it. You will not be disappointed. I will post clips later.

    Have you heard a B&B?
    I liked my borla on my A4. At WOT it sounded like a sand blaster, but it did wonders for that turbo car.

    very mild note at highway. NOTHING like my C5. Think it is because my hardtop vette cabin was open all the way to the rear of the car. and the muffler note would just find its way into the open cabin trunk. The V has the segregated trunk space so that may isolate some of the exhaust. I hated the 2K rpm drone in my vette, this is NOTHING like that.

    Good to know. We have had many forum members with Corsas, B&Bs, and Magnaflows, but very few reporting the installation of Borlas. Therefore, direct feedback has been scarce.

    My friend has a Borla on his V. I sounds very good. We both agree the B&B is deeper. He never got the tips to line up so it looks a little odd from the rear. The tips are huge...They must be 5".

    Post pics so everyone can see.

    Re: borla baby!

    Lets see if this works. Below is my attempt to post my Borla youtube clip. If it does not work. here is the direct link.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq5-01AA30Q"]YouTube - CTS-V with Borla Exhaust[/ame]

    I really liked it and decided after listening to this clip ...
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZojjUOpXfq8"]YouTube - CTS-V Exhaust - Stock vs Borla[/ame]

    I went this way because I felt only B&B and Borla actually tuned the exhaust note more than simply amplifying the sound of the engine. I know many have magnaflow and others which are very nice, but exhaust is a true sound preference.. I loved the deeper note. It is subtle at idle and roars with the V8 sound. Borla has a "V8" sound clip on their site. The V-day III clpis, I can pick mine and B&B from sound alone.

    hope this works --- I used the search in the forum to learn this.

    Re: borla baby!

    Which borla mufflers did you choose(length and type)? was it the catback system or just the mufflers (stock resonator)?

    Nevermind I saw the pic, catback.

    Re: borla baby!

    It is cat-back. I love the sound.. but the tips are a bit big. They are 4" and a B1TCH to try to center. Too far in the pipes almost contact the diff, to far apart and the pipes contact part of the frame, and lets not discuss not contacting the rear bumber exits. Mess with it and it eventually relaxes and can be centered pretty well. It definately get looks and many compliments from bystanders.

    Here is where I got mine. $1018 shipped and I got it in 3 days! call first for availability.
    http://www.lmperformance.com/6986/68.html

    There are "mid-mufflers" (about 3.5" in diameter, 12" long) in the straight pipes just behind the X pipe that replaced the stock resonator. So just going with the borla mufflers, I can not say how much that may differ from the audio I posted.

    If you were to use the mufflers only, my best would be this turbo XL:
    40665 2 1/2" 2 1/2" 19" x 4" x 9 1/2" Center/Offset $210.99

    But you would have to attach your own hangers to the muffler and do a bunch of cutting and still have to get some tips. Not a bad project. I would call Borla to ask which series mufflers they attach in the cat-back setup. It is probably the Turbo XL series. You need an offset inlet and center outlet

    Thanks guys!
