I use Lidsay for every little thing on my V, and I am always amazed at what they are willing to do for us. How many other dealers double as a race shop ? |

I don't think its the trans, its coming from the rear.
Anyone have issues with a BMR kit causing a bootom out sound/bang on wot accel? |

I'm thinking its the LS2 intake, MAF or tune. The heat here this weekend probably isn't helping. Going to dynoshop tomorrow. We'll see. |

ohh and i would spring for the dss axles and make use of all that power you have. |

Between the TB, the tube and the MAF, you're losing a few ponies. For confirmation, have the dyno guy do a data log during the pull and look at your WOT KPa, just for kicks. If it's like mine was, it'll be around 92-93 KPa, with room for improvement before the throttle body.
The LS2 intake comparison data can be found here http://www.tpis.com/index.php?module=2_17_06 .
A FAST 90/92 would be an improvement, one that you could definitely feel and at your investment level, easily justified.
An LS7 MAF sensor in a PowrMax 102mm housing and a new home-brew tube are laying on my workbench and are going on mine as soon as I decide on porting the LS7 intake or going for the gusto ( LSXr 102 ). |

I'll pass that info on to the tuner; I'm considering adding the FAST and ditching the stock intake tubing & am thankful for the data.
Tuner seems to think its running too rich -- blew some black smoke on the first pull. It is right about where I'd expected it would be on rwhp - 444. Turns out, it is a bit low on rwtq (409). The tune's going to take a bit of work but looking at the pull data the motor's putting out well over 400 hp from all the way up as high as we ran it (@6800 rpm it was still making 424.4 hp). Tuner's pretty confident with fine tuning/adjustments, it can be kept safe while finding the missing torque. We'll see.
Right now, I'm stuck home with strep |

Lowcountry Age: 63 | | | Re: Lindsay + Katech Motor + Son of Tranzilla = Cadjira If you decide to replace your stock intake tube (and keep your stock MAF), you can get the components from Intakehoses.com.
Starting at the throttle body, you'll need a 4" elbow, a short (~2") piece of 4" tubing, a 4" to 3 1/2" silicone reducer, about 4" of 3 1/2" tubing and a 3 1/2" silicone hump connector at the MAF. This is the setup that is on mine now but will be replaced with the Powrmax/Halltech MAF sometime in June.
This will be real close to your P/S pulley but will clear by about 3/16" if installed with care.
The finished installation will look like this:

We're going to do the FAST 92. When he calls me with the timeline etc. I'll ask him about maybe fabbing up a new intake. Its clear to me they have the in-house expertise to do that in their sleep. I'll point him at this post -- can you repost a copy of that picture bigger? I can't make out the intake tubing in the little one I can see. Thanks! |

Lowcountry Age: 63 | | | Re: Lindsay + Katech Motor + Son of Tranzilla = Cadjira There's actually little tubing visible in the setup. There's a short section (~1 1/2") just to the left of the P/S reservoir. It's mostly just enough to splice up the silicone sections.
My digital camera has passed away, so the only photos I have are the one's I have on a disc. I'll try again to resize them. Maybe if I emailed them direct to you, they would come out larger. |

Wow. John did only some initial tweaking today & wow. We did go ahead and add a FAST 92mm intake, which helped. I knew that crappy LS2 intake was a clog in the whole shebang dammit.
Pulling timing out to stop knock at high RPM, he's got it over 460 rwhp (and it looks like its still putting out 430 or so at the 7000 rpm fuel cut-off); and, more importantly, torque is way up -- over 440... And, its over 400 for a good chunk of the rpm band finally.
Anyway, John's going to work on it tomorrow morning some more & do the fine tuning (he was mostly doing knock retard stuff today). I can't wait to see the final figures.
The real interesting (improvement) though are the actual power curves. Night & day from before -- linear hp curve and the torque's coming on hard and strong down low like I'd hoped this motor would do.
I'll post the final charts/dyno results when he's done tomorrow.
Fingers crossed | | Tags: 67l, bmr, c5 r, conversion, headers, katech, lindsay cadillac, lpe, rockland standard gear, stainless, sts v, tpis, uuc, z06 clutch, zoomers | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
