Hey guys we are well known in the gto crowd as the leaders of high end parts. We want to have the same stature in the ctsv market. We have devolped a line of axles with different size bars to cancel wheelhop,we have had great sucsess with the gto guys and would like to help the ctsv guys as well. These axles list for $1899 we are willing to sell 5 sets to help get our name out. These will be $1550 and come with a free set of our $159 high end spark plug wires! That puts the axles at $1391!These are Hendrix-Engineering axles there is nothing like them on the market.Thank you for the opertunity to service you ,as you will see our customer service is above and beyond! We do not need to wait for a total of 5 ,these axles are in stock and ready to ship when you order! Thanks!
Well mine are in, took one of our mechanics an hour per side. Had a few issues, we ended up putting the smaller on the driver side and the larger on the passenger. For some reason the larger axle wouldn't go on the drive side it was to long. We also had an issue with the cv on the rear end side of the axle not going in all the way, just had to push it in to the housing till the snap ring clipped. Nothing worse than the feeling of spending the money and time and u let the clutch out and it doesn't move. With all that being said.
Now the important part.
NO WHEEL HOP.
Just a smooth side to side motion, no more teeth jarring rearend bouncing side show. Just lots of smoke(tire).
So
KARS III Original Kit Installed by Doug - $640.00
Drag Bags - $80.00
HE Axles - $1550.00
NO WHEEL HOP - Priceless
AWESOME william!.!1st it doesnt matter what side the biggest bar goes on,but they are the same length. You wouldnt believe how dang strong them rubber boots are ,sometomes you have to wiggly them around to get the cv to callaspe for install.Im assuming they had the shocks loose.Glad you got um in!!!Enjoy...
So after reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that my bone stock V only needs two mods to make it better then ever. Those two are a shifter and these axles. Is that right? or did I miss something in these 17 pages. I hope I can sneek 2K out of the bank without the Boss finding out j/k
We sure hope so,i will say the ctsv rear looks far beefer than the gto rear, wheel hop has been the diffs demise, now we will see its power holding ability.Right now we have a few sets left for $1599 we will be going up to the more realistic price of $1899 with the race cvs very soon.If you would like to save now would be the time.
If these axles, in eliminating wheelhop, result in virtually complete protection for the diff, then they, too, will be in the top two or three mods you can do to a Gen I CTS-V ... maybe even the very top mod.
I don't have these axles and I can do out right clutch dumps and spin my tires without any hop, but I do get a couple hops if I try to launch at the 1-2 shift. It hops when it is on the borderline traction/no traction. I can generally drive around it, but that means to not shift has hard as I want. I do enjoy myself some tire roasting videos, but could some of you fine gentlemen could give me some evidence of the ability to reduce/eliminate this.
I'd also recommend using some painter's tape and tape some cardboard up to your rear fenders behind the tires as to eliminate the possibility kicking up anything and scratching your paint.
Installed my axles tonight. Took a little under 1 hour. Spent 40 minutes on the drivers side, and 15 minutes on the passenger side. Pretty easy to tell which side we did first huh. I guess if you include tightening the bolts, then the total time was about 1.25 hours. They were the biggest hassle of the install IMO.
I havn't really put 'em to the test yet, other than a nice long (zero wheel-hop) 1st gear burn-out. Will try some more tomorrow. Sorry...no videos from me.
Has anyone been trying a brake torque burnout? i went out last night and mine hopps like crazy when i brake torque it. no hop when i just do a standard burnout. im goin out in just a bit to see if i can wait just a sec after the wheels start to spin before applying the brake. see what that might do.
I would not recomend that to ANYONE!..That is a great way to tear up your rearend,if you want to set still and boil your tires you need a line loc.I have seen many rear faliures from this exact thing.
Did I miss out on the sale? I have a V on the way and wouldn't mind the axles being here around the same time.
There goes my rim fund, but i'll be ordering lowering springs asap.
There is still a chance to get the axles below dealer,$1699 for the race cvs..$1599 for standard...These will be going up in the next week or so as it is time to make another run of parts ,if you need a set now would be the time...
First of all, congrats on your "new" V. Post up details and pics when it arrives.
Secondly, IMHO, these axles are more important than rims. Further, they may be the most important mod available to the CTS-V community IF they indeed protect diffs.

Man I would really like to do this but I have too much factory warranty left (till mid 2011) to do this now and possibly void the warranty. I guess I'll just have to wait and pay going rate then.
same here. ive been contemplating dumping the rest of my warranty and applying the residual toward the axles etc. but i know something will go wrong immediately afterward.
the question is why is only one company in america making these? im thinking this will change in the next 24 mos as word gets out. then the laws of supply and demand will eliminate the auction factor.
im not sure if i can ***** foot my v for 2 more years so ill end up taking the bait once i get past the upcoming matrimony event
if im hendrix, im on the phone with gm trying to sell sell sell. imgine if they incorporated these into diff fix??????
So just for fun, i looked on DSS's website and found a local shop listed under their dealers tab. Called and got a quote. Looks like Hendrix is def the best deal out there! No sales tax if buying from out of state right?
Oh and i wouldn't have posted this in your thread if it happened to be lower Hendrix,. Just giving you some low prices props
Thanks,i think lol...Yes you are tax free every where but nc........Now add $200 for race cvs and $180 for the special grease:bonkers:..I would say were giving them away..Thanks for the suport guys!
I thought Thomas said they were the same length in a thread somewhere (maybe this one)? And like you said Darkman, I thought the CV's were just in closer on one than the other but ended up being the same length. Thomas can you verify??
I DID sit the HE axles next to the stock ones (didn't measure) but they looked about the same, but again I didn't measure. I tried to match up the ones that looked close to the stock ones

Well, the Hendrix-Engineering axles are not interchangeable. If you don't put the longer, thicker one on the passenger side and the shorter, thinner one on the driver's side the fat lady won't sing.
THANKS A TON GUYS!!! We depend on who were working with to give us the corect info,as i said its no performance difference in which side the biggest is on.I sent a few sets out today and decided to put a driverside and passanger side sticker to make it cut and dry,of coarse that was before i seen this so the stickers are on the wrong ones!!!!Man i hate mistakes...Thanks again for the help
Well my axles are installed and I have been on my first test drive. I have not experienced wheel hop in the past because I learned early, and on my first differential, that I could avoid it by slipping the clutch, using 3/4 throttle in first gear, and short-shifting out of first gear into to second. This technique is also likely the reason I am still on my original motor mounts.
In any event, with the new axles installed I can put the V in competition mode (no rear traction control) and nail the throttle in first gear with impunity. The rear tires spin and produce some fish tailing, but no hint of wheelhop. A powershift to second results in another pronounced fish-tail but no wheel hop.
Since a Poweraid pro-stocker built with an unlimited budget can be made to wheelhop, there may be some combination of horesepower, tires, and track coniditons that will make a V1 equipped with these axles do the same. But to me that is not the point. The real point is that V1s have the well deserved reputation for being more wheel-hop prone than other similar cars. With the installation of these axles there is no such tendency. Had V1s come from the factory with the Hendrix-Engineering axles in the first place I don't believe wheel hop would even be assoicated with the V1 image.

I have stock axels and if you throw a little fishtail on them, they don't hop. I can leave 100 ft rubber marks without hop. Its when you go for the straight launch that they hop. Can you keep it straight on the launch or do the axels load up differently and automatically send the car off to one side?
I thought the hop had to do with geometry of the way the rear was set up. Then, when the 2009 came out, they said they fixed the hop with the alexs. Now all I hear about is axels....
Wooooooo!!!!!! Get a video going Darkman! Even if it's a cell phone who cares. Glad you got it all back together and can enjoy your V again!
