the question is why is only one company in america making these? im thinking this will change in the next 24 mos as word gets out. then the laws of supply and demand will eliminate the auction factor.

im not sure if i can ***** foot my v for 2 more years so ill end up taking the bait once i get past the upcoming matrimony event

if im hendrix, im on the phone with gm trying to sell sell sell. imgine if they incorporated these into diff fix??????

    back to work.
i fail to see how these axles would kill your warranty?

    Good to know.

I got a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

The question that has some concerned is a claim denied and blame put on the non-factory axels as the cause just to get out of a large warranty claim. The general has denied claims for less reason before.

Way a head of ya!!!!..I have the biggest bar going on the DRIVERS SIDE!!..This is the information that was passed on to us when we made these axles...Can some one confirm that they have the biggest bar on the drivers side?..Is everyone instaling the biggest bar on the passanger side? There is a 2 inch difference in the axles ,it should be fairly obveous which is the shorter of the stock axles.Stand the stock axles up on end and compress it all the way down...The biggest bar we have is the longest,if we have the sides messed up per ythe info we were given we would like to know.I think it was misunderstood when i said it didnt matter which side they went on ,im talking about the bigger bar as far as working,it doesnt matter which side the biggest bar is on it will cancel the wheel hop ,but they are different sizes. If someone can stand the stock axles up and let me know which is the shortest, driver or pasanger i would realy apreciate it.

I pulled out the axle (driver's side) and measured against the other Hendrix-Engineering axle. The trick is to make sure the axles you are comparing are both fully compressed. One is 2-3 inches longer and is the thicker of the two - this one goes on the passenger side. I figured out last night that: (a) I was attempting to install the thicker axle in the driver's side; and (b) this was opposite of what Rand49er reported.

I installed the drivers side (with the shorter, thinner axle) this morning. I am going swimming the rest of the day and will go for the passenger side tommorrow before it hits the 100 degree mark again.

Thanks again for all your help.

The shorter, thinner axle goes on the drivers side. Although I only have one axle in, this is consistent with what Rand49er reported for his successful install.

Re: Hendrix-Engineering getting to know you axle sale!

Well my axles are installed and I have been on my first test drive. I have not experienced wheel hop in the past because I learned early, and on my first differential, that I could avoid it by slipping the clutch, using 3/4 throttle in first gear, and short-shifting out of first gear into to second. This technique is also likely the reason I am still on my original motor mounts.

In any event, with the new axles installed I can put the V in competition mode (no rear traction control) and nail the throttle in first gear with impunity. The rear tires spin and produce some fish tailing, but no hint of wheelhop. A powershift to second results in another pronounced fish-tail but no wheel hop.

Since a Poweraid pro-stocker built with an unlimited budget can be made to wheelhop, there may be some combination of horesepower, tires, and track coniditons that will make a V1 equipped with these axles do the same. But to me that is not the point. The real point is that V1s have the well deserved reputation for being more wheel-hop prone than other similar cars. With the installation of these axles there is no such tendency. Had V1s come from the factory with the Hendrix-Engineering axles in the first place I don't believe wheel hop would even be assoicated with the V1 image.

    In summary, I am pleased.
