Of how to put the axles in?

Just search for my diff install thread....it's all the same up to the point of removing the diff. I think the link is even in one of these pages.

I tried getting my writeups added to FAQ before, but they never did. Does anyone know how to contact Reed?

Lolly's diff thread helps a bunch, but needs two or three more pics and info to be complete, IMHO.

Lolly, when you do your axle install, take a pic of the axle nut itself just prior to taking it off. That's talked about in your thread, but is not actually shown. Also, take a pic of the snap ring so everybody (okay, just me) knows what it looks like. Finally, mention the grease on the splines (both ends) upon reassembly and putting diff fluid on the diff seal before inserting the axle into the diff itself. That, in addition to your diff thread, will result in a more complete set of instructions.

    My $0.02.

I'll take a pic of the warning label, and write in RED to tighten those bolts! I'll say sumthin about tightening them after they are installed, and just turn the hubs to get to the bolts easily.

It may be a good idea to put an instruction sheet together along with the warning label to include with every set of axles shipped.

Re: Hendrix-Engineering getting to know you axle sale!

Just got out from under my car. Yup. They were all finger tight -- that's all! --, so everybody out there who's got these better check 'em and tighten as necessary. My all needed about 1/4 to 1/2 turn to get them tight.

EDIT: I might add that Thomas called me personally this morning to warn me about these bolts. He happened to have my cell no. and took time out to make sure I knew. Said he didn't have many guys' phone numbers so couldn't call everybody or he would have. He explained that he's not as used to dealing with non-mechanics like most of us ... those guys, the mechanics, check this stuff out of habit or know ahead of time to tighten the bolts. Anyway, I appreciate his concern. We also talked about a warning label and about Lolly maybe doing a set of instructions for him to put into each box with the axles. Maybe even putting Lolly's cell number, his home phone number, his email address, his home address, and his ... (j/k)

At least Thomas was nice enough to call.

Randy, did you just jack it up and turn the hub/tires in order to get to all the bolts easily?

Lol, I'll do the instructions. I'm not trying to answer tech questions at midnight over the phone

Cool Re: Hendrix-Engineering getting to know you axle sale!

Well mine are in, took one of our mechanics an hour per side. Had a few issues, we ended up putting the smaller on the driver side and the larger on the passenger. For some reason the larger axle wouldn't go on the drive side it was to long. We also had an issue with the cv on the rear end side of the axle not going in all the way, just had to push it in to the housing till the snap ring clipped. Nothing worse than the feeling of spending the money and time and u let the clutch out and it doesn't move. With all that being said.

    Now the important part.

    NO WHEEL HOP.

Just a smooth side to side motion, no more teeth jarring rearend bouncing side show. Just lots of smoke(tire).

    So

KARS III Original Kit Installed by Doug - $640.00
    Drag Bags - $80.00
    HE Axles - $1550.00
    NO WHEEL HOP - Priceless

    TOTALLY PLEASED William
