I have not taken videos as of yet for several reasons, the first and foremost if you pay attention and read entire threads before commenting....I just replaced my second diff which was the second of which was not covered under warranty. The last one broke with the KARS III kit installed and not under a wheel hopping condition...so I am still a little reluctant to start dumping the clutch and launching my V only to have the possibility of breaking shit again. Second, my car is very far from stock rear wheel numbers. so it is much more likely to break the still weak upgraded ('08 version) diff. If you are so interested in ending the wheelhop issue that you have since I'm sure your 04 is still under warranty why don't you buy a set of axles and start beating the shit out of your car on video to prove a point. I'm not on the forum trying to sell a product for monetary gains, I'm on here attempting to provide my fellow Cadillac CTS-V enthusiasts with info on how improve the performance of their V and eliminate wheelhop thus ending the continuous failure of our rear differentials. We want to drive our cars cars the way the should be driven, without having the worry of costly breakage
Chill out, everybody is just anxious to see how this turns out. It happens to everybody that comes up with a new miracle cure.

Re: Testing new fix for wheelhop: Custom Axles

There's a list longer than my arm of people who claim to have cured wheelhop, but none turned out to be true. I know we're all anxious to see some concrete results, but that doesn't give anyone the right to insult other members (specifically, calling them liars).

I'd think everyone would be a little more constructive and supportive here, especially since he's ponying up the money to test this instead of just flapping his gums like a lot of people have done.

Re: Testing new fix for wheelhop: Custom Axles

I cant speak for everybody but I'm pretty sure 99% of the people that posted that n2ojunkey was lying because he didn't have a video, were joking. Only because they want to encouage him to post a video. At least thats the way I took it. I'm in no way saying it was right or anything, just sayin. Either way, if they get there panties in a pinch because they really do think that, screw em. It'll teach them patience and then they will have to eat their words when you finally do post one.

So continue on great pioneer of the unknown. Continue your reasearch untill you can say for certain. I would rather have someone that actually puts it through the paces to ensure everyone else will have similar results.

Re: Testing new fix for wheelhop: Custom Axles

I know a certain amount of ribbing was implied in many of those posts, but it's very important when typing that you do something to convey that it's a joke (like a little or at the end of the sentence). n20's response obviously shows that he didn't see the comment as a joke, and since he's the one contributing something good to the forum, guess which one of the posts is going to get deleted?

I want this to continue being a fun place where we can all break balls a little with each other, but comments that are outright rude will continue to be deleted unless it's obviously good natured ribbing.
Rest in Peace, J.D. (aka Dirt_Cheap_Fleetwood)

Sounds impressive. But for $1800, I will continue slipping the clutch at 2500

Keep doing that, and you'll need to mod that clutch.

See, I can vouch for slipping the clutch until you waste a spec 3+ or two like I have, but do the math......a good twin that will hold the amount of power my V makes could run upwards of $2k my suggestion on your next clutch would be an RPS Ultra Lite Street Twin with a price tag of $2395.00 I would also suggest using RAM adj Slave, adj. Master, and spacer at an additional $500.00 or call Luke and get the LS7 set up and stop slipping the clutch and just drive your car.

Re: Testing new fix for wheelhop: Custom Axles

The GTO guys had been doing this same mod for probably over a year now. Their was a Driveshaft Shop in NC, the owner had his own 04 or 05V fitted with custom shafts and his buddy had a 10 or 11sec GTO. I am pretty sure these are the guys.

    http://www.driveshaftshop.com

Guy I know with the GTO's name is Roger, his buddy owned this shop and he had a V at one time (since sold it) If you call you should be able to verify that, I remember he was selling his V on ebay under a user name drivershaftshop or the like. That was probably 18 months ago (when I wrecked my first V I was looking for a replacement and saw it on ebay)

What is 'slipping the clutch' and why would he have to mod his clutch because of it?
