I am currently having a shop install my 561 Motorwerks Traction Kit (KARS III) and they called and said that they think the whole damn thing is too small, almost like someone washed it and the whole thing shrunk (his words).
They tried to line up the mounting points on one side and it appears to be 1" too short.
My question is has anybody installed their Kit from the group buy last fall. I don't know how my bar could be wrong if it was made on a jig. I need to narrow the problem down to either, the shop is trying to install it wrong or the bar is actually too small.
Who has installed their kit and how did it fit/work? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They made a couple dozen of them and so we would have heard by now if the kit was the wrong size.

They have got to be trying to install it incorrectly!

I already gave my guy Chris's cell phone number so he could talk over the problem with Chris or whoever actually built the kits and my shop guy has not gotten a response to his voicemails yet. I hope they get ahold of each other soon, because I gave the OK for my shop to go ahead and cut up the bar to make it fit, which is not going to be pretty, I'm thinking... |

Or was it an original KARS Kit? |

What a PITA! Another guy here (I won't say who) had to pry the crap out of his original KARS kit to get it to go on.
Hopefully, the installer are just whining a bit so you accept their bill a bit easier, and it's just a matter of a little elbow grease to install someone's aftermarket, built-on-a-budget-in-a-garage product.

Thing was just a tad on the small side. | Well, I'm glad to hear my shop guys aren't crazy. I just have a hard time accepting that these kits don't fit right from the get go. They are marketed and sold as a direct bolt-on. I feel like I (or anyone who had to put in extra fab work) should be refunded a portion of the cost of this kit. I budgeted for this install to take 4 hours and IMO, anything over that due to having to do extensive work to make it fit should be covered by the seller of the item. I would have never bought this kit in the first place if I knew it was going to be a $1500 cluster-f (only $640 of that being the actual cost of the kit + shipping).
csp3000 - if you are seeing this please pm me or post here and let me know your thoughts. I am not trying to run you through the mud, but would it have been too much to ask to randomly test fit a couple of the kits that went out the door to make sure they actually fit? |

Puhlease. Go fast parts NEVER fit right. Its the fun of customizing. |

Originally Posted by CTS-Voodoo A partial refund? Puhlease. Go fast parts NEVER fit right. Its the fun of customizing. | I'm sorry that I actually want to get what I paid for. I don't know your situation, but here is mine:
I'm not rich, I have to save up for all my mods and I have to choose every mod that I do to my car very carefully to get the best bang for my buck, whether it be performance or cosmetic. I guess it would have been nice to hear from someone that these Traction Kits were not guaranteed to fit my car (every single other mod I have on my car has fit flawlessly with no modifications) and that most of them will have to be cut and spliced and bent up to work. That doubles the cost of installation. I am just guessing at what my shop is going to charge me over the original 4 hours install time, but I am betting it will double that. For that money, I could have had a complete C6 Z06 Clutch Kit (Clutch, Pressure Plate, Flywheel, and new Slave cylinder) from Luke, which I am also really in need of. I am just frustrated that no attempt to test fit, even one of these kits, was made. If I had been told in the thread where all these kits were being sold that there is a really good chance that the bar will have to be completely modified to fit, I absolutely would never have bought the kit in the first place (knowing that the installation cost would be huge compared to the value of the part itself), that is where my problem is.
I don't want a refund on the price of the kit, but would like some money back to help pay for the cost of the actual modifications (fabrication) of the kit just to make it fit. My shop guy said that when they put a bolt in one side, the bar was 1.5" - 2" short from being able to put the other bolt in. That is not even close to what it should be...
