Lightbulb Feeler: KW Coil Over Group Buy

Whats up guys, I wanted to see if there would be interest in a KW coil over group buy. These things are worth the money if you have it, but for those of us fiscally challenged this option is unfortunately a far reach. A group buy could change that nagging detail.

I went through mod hell and back with my last car. I did however enjoy alot of the experience and learned alot in the process. Over the years I made friends and dare i say "enemies" in the forums. I dont have too many haters out there, just enough to have kept it interesting.

Of the many friends I made out there over the years, one of the coolest by far has been Marcel Horn. This guy builds some of the most powerful volkswagens on the planet and is truly a world class individual. He loves what he does and from the moment you meet him it wont be too long before you sense the same thing for yourself.

So the meat and potatoes is ive been communicating with Marcel seeing if he could do something for us as he works very close with KW. I very much enjoyed how KW coilovers performed in the R32 application, but I never owned a set. He wants to see how many of us are thinking of buying into a suspension over the next few months and maybe we can make this happen. I told him somwhere in the neghborhood of 5-10 sets but thats definitely depending on the price.

Im also gonna see how difficult it would be for them to do a run of Varaint 's 1's, if its even possible. That could really affect the cost and still get us in the door with a serious coil over. Im not counting on it though, and the variant 3s ability to adjust dampening is probably the best way to retain the cadillac ride while still being a few turns away from becomimg a road course monster....and most importantly anywhere in between.

Please, share your thoughts, let me know what you think and if your interested. Im waiting on numbers now and as soon as I know them ill post.

Well, I'm not personally into "pimpin" or "slammed". But it does sound interesting... Thoughts?

I'm interested, like to hear a price first.
Price would need to be cheaper than $1800 found @ Advanced Speed Shop.com

I have a GC kit, so no point in switching. I do have a question though.
Doesn't KW run higher spring rate in the front? GC has a higher rate in the rear. Just wondering how they can both make it work.

This was the same question I had. Origianlly I think GC had stiffer springs in the front.

Re: Feeler: KW Coil Over Group Buy

I was planning on spending close to $1G on QA1s. So if this can get down close to $1500, then I'd be VERY interested. I'm sure I could get something for my current GCs if i went this route which is why I'd be so willing...
