Originally Posted by CTSV_Rob OK the ride in Dave's car proved to me that I need to go with this setup. Before you ask, I did not drive Dave's car, it was raining and I wouldn't have done it even if he had offered.
We took off out of the Hooters parking lot and headed straight for the freeway. As we were coming up the on-ramp I noticed that the car stayed quite level and what seemed to be very predictable throughout the turn. At the exit of the turn the road had either a dip or a bump and it was hardly noticeable. Drove down the freeway until we got to the next exit and he took it with a little speed and he made a couple of sharp moves to the left and to the right and the car stayed very close to level. We traveled through town back to hooters and I was just impressed with the ride quality.
When we got back Dave jumped into my V and we headed out the same way he went. With the FG2's and the Hotchkis sways the car stayed level but it wasn't near as smooth. When we hit the same bump that Dave hit in his car it was very noticeable. The car would also stay well in the turn but if I hit a large enough of a bump the car would sometimes loose traction. That bump that we hit would be enough to push out the back of the car if I was pushing it and it was in the turn. After feeling how his car absorbed the bump I really want a set of these now.
I think Lunarx put a set of these on his car, I would really like to know what he thinks of them but as of right now I am interested.
I found this post by Velose and it is pretty much dead on. http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...64-post24.html | Thanks for the experiment. I have a very similar setup to you, FG2s and Hotchkis. Whilst cornering is not bad at all I do also find that my 06 is very fidgety and rough going over bumps and rougher roads. Same behaviour can be seen on the stock runflats as well as the winters I'm running on at the moment so it's not the tires.
That is my number 1 complaint with the stock FG2 shock setup. I've not driven a V with FE4s, I would imagine it would be quite a bit softer.
If KW is able to offer a more fluid and stable ride over the rough stuff whilst still maintaining good level cornering ability I may well be interested.
And yes, I'll have FG2s up for sale. With 20k miles on them (no track days though yet)

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. Had to go pretty high up the ladder for this one. Okay, here is what we can do. If we can gather 10 people to particpate in this offer, we can provide the KW V.3's for $1800 plus shipping. D3 Cadillac will apply an instant credit of $100/per kit bringing the final amount to $1700 plus shipping. We can start another official thread if there is interest.
Thank you,
Dr. Design
