Wasn't to difficult to install. 21mm, 24mm, 1/2 drive wrench and a torque wrench are all you need. I have an air hammer so mine went pretty quick.
As for the road noise you can hear it with the radio off. With the radio on its pretty hard to pick out but it is there. Maybe my ears are a little more sensitive since I am younger. The road noise is also more pronounced at 50+. Install it, go for a drive and you will see. If you donít like it, its real easy to uninstall, just keep the two washers they tell you to throw away.
As for handling, I noticed no increase in handling performance.
Count me in for a red or black one.
What about ride quality?
Is it noticeably different?
I too have it installed. It does turn out I was short two "spacers" which act as limiters for the stock bushings. They ring the stock bushing (big rubbery thing), to prevent much movement. The clunking I experienced i believe is gone (not well tested yet) Also, an air gun does make the job a piece cake.
I like it. I would say 85% gone on the wheel hop. If a wheel does start to hop because of surface or traction or whatever, then it hops less. But i do no hop on clean ground.
I DID notice a difference in corner entry. It seems a bit sharper, the brakes to gas transition while throwing it into a corner does seem a bit sharper. The ride quality seems the same.
All in all good mod, and cheap. Looking at the construction I can understand why it was done the way it was (stock). But it was done to calm the NVH, not to improve any handling, durability, weight, etc. Do I notice it louder? Yes. But its because I'm listening. No one who has taken a ride (frequent riders) has ever commented. And when quizzed no one said it was louder.
I do not think an alignment is needed. HOWEVER, I had my left rear axle seal replaced on the diff, and I'm not 100% sure he didn't slide something. (ps, he used just synthetic, no additive) You do move the whole rear end a lot during this mod, it would make me feel better anyway. I like those lifetime alignments that you can use anytime - I'll go buy one of those at a place with a good machine. Oh, and I threw out the run flats some time ago.
Should have sold those runflats, get a nice penny for em.
Anyone who has this kit on, have you taken it to the track yet?
