Re: Maggie with bad bearings, pulling it off and might need help!!

Is your belt frayed? Mine was, and the loose strands weed-whipped my hood liner a bit. Heavymetals warned me. Fortunately, I replaced the belt before it got too carried away.

Don't have any pics on my computer right now. But look at steps 104-106 in the manual. Make sure that was done.
Hmmm, didn't you change your TB? You might need to do it.

Tony

Re: Maggie with bad bearings, pulling it off and might need help!!

Tony, nothing major about the rubbing.. Im not too worried about it...

For those on the fence and others-
I officially have the maggie back on and it's working just like it did when I first bought it. Everything seems to be working. If I had the chance to go back and do it again.. I WOULD.. but I would consider just going to NA. THere is nothing like the sound of the wine under the hood... if you are condering the purchase of the maggie, please call Magnacharger and ask them about the ongoing problem with the unit, and at the least ask them how they are going to help you when it happens to you.... Ask them about the turn around time...

I sent my unit to them on Jan 1, 2009
Arrived at Magna on Jan 9, 2009 (signed by jason)
Arrived back to my house on Jan 30, 2009
Re-installed Feb. 7, 2009

The choice is yours!!! Thanks for all the help guys!!!!!!!

Cowan

Re: Maggie with bad bearings, pulling it off and might need help!!

I havent been keeping up with this thread, but mine used to rub as well. Right above the tension pulley. Apparently under heavy load the strain on the belt is enough to pull the idler up into your hood, also loosens the belt and can cause it to ride off one pulley slicing it, or just throwing it off completely. They have that little L-Bracket upgrade thing that is supposed to fix this, anyone installed that?

EDIT: Oops, nevermind, just read pg 6

Re: Maggie with bad bearings, pulling it off and might need help!!

east coast supercharging has a modified tensioner pulley/bracket that is supposed to work better. I don't think anyone here has tried that yet though.

I am STILL waiting for my bracket since I STILL am walking the belt off of the tensioner pulley when I torque it up. My little run in with the SL63 didnt sling it but we went from a 60mph roll so I think mine happens in 2nd-3rd most of the time.

Looks like I need to call Dave at Magna tomorrow. AGAIN.

I'm pretty sure it's back on, and running fine.
TG is having boost issues. Might not be a the Maggies fault though.
