You can't really go wrong for the most part, and can end up with a decent system for a lot less money if you re-use parts of the stock exhaust. It's not a bad system, it just doesn't sound very aggressive.
If I didn't find a used magnaflow for $400, I probably would have went with a modified stock system.

That's exactly what I wanted to do. I was thinking kooks headers and the magnaflow mufflers. My friend did this combo on his C6 vette and I love the sound.
I didn't know if there were specific model numbers for the mufflers and tips? I was also wondering if there was an inexpensive and reliable place to purchase them.
Are there any drawbacks to doing it this way? It seemed to me that the rest of the money going to the catback systems was for piping that we already had, but I may be wrong.
