    Katech Headers ??

Has anyone used these Headers or know anything about them for the V? Katech is offering a pretty good deal on their Off Road Headers but haven't heard much on this forum.

I'm shopping for the Kooks as we speak but the price on these ($899 - 1 3/4) have my interest.

    Re: Katech Headers ??

I know they don't make cats for them, and I'm sure the quality is top notch, but I don't recall anyone else using them on here...

I say do it! (if you don't need cats for inspection/emissions)

I wonder if Flyboy didn't have those. He had Katech do a cam, a FAST intake, and a 90 mm TB ... don't recall whose headers he had, though.

Anyway, isn't that price about the same as Kooks? But, you still have to either get the cats or "off-road" connector pipes which puts you back up near the 1200 buck neighborhood?

According to Katech you don't need the connector pipes. Their designed to mount up to the stock exhaust.

You're right Randy - he had katech headers and a corsa catback.

For only $899 without the need for connector pipes, I say many people should be jumping on this deal while they're on sale. With the exception of Tony of course, his car doesn't want headers. (had to mention it)

The Kooks Off Road setup with the Magnaflow is the sound that I like thanks to Whistler...I would like to jump on this but not sure if there will be a big difference in sound. I can't find a video anywhere.

Not likely. The cats, (X-pipe or resonator) and the mufflers probably have the biggest influence on the tone and loudness. If that's your only reservation then do it.

I would recommend some of those heat socks for your wires though. One of theose pipes seems like it would get awfully close to your wires.

I just bought a pair last week on ebay for $530 shipped. I can't wait to see what they look like and get them put on the car.

Ya Rob is right. Make sure you get kool sox, Taylor Wires, or wrap the headers. The back drivers side wire pretty much lays on the header. You'll burn thru it if you don't do something.
