Also, is there any more feedback by the first 10 people that got the KARS kit before I send my cash in for mine?
-Matt | 1) Handling: Same or can't tell the difference.
2) Noise from the rear: No/Yes, it depends on the road. I live in MI where the roads suck, black top: no noise, concrete w/o grooves: no/very little noise, concrete w/ grooves: noisy, but toleratable. Keep in mind that you are tying in the rear craddle to the frame/body, so your floor boards will act like a tuning fork so your interior will act like a speaker woofer on certain roads when it hits a certain freq. but like I said its only on grooved roads for me. If you have a problem with noise in the interior, you can always add dynamat. In my case, it was not bad enough for me to add it yet (maybe once I add the poly motor/trans mounts from Lindsey).
3) Is it worth buying: IMO, Yes. I don't have to worry about wheel hop and blowing the diff (from wheel hop). Before, I had very bad wheel hop, I couldn't launch the car in 1st gear. I even had wheel hop when I chirp 2nd and 3rd gear.
The KARS mod is well worth it to me. I have better video, but Youtube only takes 1mb videos. |

But my problem is I already have the BMR AWH kit and I would have to get rid of it I guess. Since this is going in its place and can't add it to the kit. So maybe someone could buy mine for a good deal...? It only has 2k miles on it and it has worked great but hasn't got rid of all the wheel hop... So I guess if somebody wants my kit let me know and BTW its that blackish color that you can get from BMR. |

I have been reading this forum for what seems like forever, and finally I own a 06 V so I can chime in! I'm outta warranty so I need to get this KARS kit or the BMR... something so I don't shatter the rear end. I love the car so much, but I cannot have a blast while worrying about paying out for a new rear end.
So after reading all 34 pages of this thread I get the following. BMR has a nice but inferior kit, the KARS kit is better and almost erradicates wheel hop but bolts the rear to the car which must increase noise a little.... and CTSV05 used to have a kit of some kind but that's gone because demand was low and he went bust.
So I'm going to either put my name in for the next batch of KARS or maybe buy smoothq's BMR setup... I need some peace of mind.
I have heard a couple stories of people adding ford 9" rears into the V to solve this problem of the shattering diff.... anyone know about that or should I start a new thread?
I AM SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BE A PART OF THE BEST GROUP OF CAR OWNERS AROUND! |

This AWH kit looks very good as you can see from the number of pages, some people are waiting for more feedback before the pull the trigger others have signed up. If cash flow is a concern, smoothq's kit might get you a fast fix and there are many threads on the BMR kit. Do some searching, enjoy your new ride and welcome to the forum.
csp, we gunna get some video out of your local man this weekend? |

Lots of options that do not exist. I hate people that jack threads, that is not me. I also am waiting to see some videos, maybe buy the used BMR setup from smoothq, or I'll get in line for the KARS kit.
It sure looks like a quality product. Installation can't be that hard either. I just don't want to turn my car into a huge resonator for a diff that's bolted into the car... but you always have to give something in order to gain! and I need to gain some stability in the rear baby!!! Quote:

Minor noise is only a small price to pay for an insurance policy on that rear end and the ability to fully drive the car.
Thanks again. |

I'm not sure what type of isolater is being used, My original setup was way louder than what I ended up with. Quote:
