unfortunately I cant imagine GM will want to replace there failed part with a better one under warranty

The diff mount mod would go hand in hand with the pinion seal replacement...???
Dealer may charge just a little to swap out the bushing, but most of the other work would be covered under the work to replace the seal... Right? |

You might want to 'lube' the bushing with a bottle of spirits for yout tech
