Interesting thought about the exhaust Tony, I wonder if the sound is due to the header/exhaust combo??? Since the corsa exhaust was designed to eliminate drone I wonder if it does some strange things when you swap out the manifolds and cats?? - Just a thought.
I have done nothing but enjoy the B&B's. I have the entire B&B setup and it just sounds sweet at idle and it has enough tone at WOT to get the blood pumping.
Now I did open the hood on the car listening for anything that may sound strange and I did hear that Singer like quality but I no longer have the trash can lid on mine either (LS2 FRC's). With the Hood closed and in the car the only thing I could hear was the rumble of the exhaust.
I sure hope you guy's can get your problems resolved. I love the header/exhaust combo so much I couldn't imagine going back to stock. I don't care which headers you have this car deserves them and make them work!!!
Time to go out for coffee and enjoy the rumble...

Re: Anyone had this happen with their KOOKS headers?
Well, Corsa catbacks tend to all have the same "death rattle" when revving it up in neutral, even with the stock headers/cats. They sound great on the way up, but when the revs fall they clatter and rattle, sort of a "Vrrrooooooooommmmmmmmkkkkkkksssshhhh". I'm thinking that whatever causes that rattle may be the same thing I'm hearing under WOT.
I'm called Magnaflow and figured out what part # canister they use in their CTS-V catback, and am probably going to order 2 from Jegs on Monday to swap out with the Corsa canisters.
Re: Anyone had this happen with their KOOKS headers?
RangerRob's video shows the exact "rattle" I'm talking about- listen when he revs and lets off, right before it gets back down to idle. Mine does that too, but do you hear the "putt putt putt putt" noise when it's idling? When I go WOT it sounds just like that, but 10 times louder and faster (with the RPMs, of course). Maddening.

I see what hyour saying Tony. Does it sound like that in the car too? If so that just about drive me nuts. Do they use a resonator on their setup or just an x-pipe? When I had the X-pipe and catless on mine it was sick loud but I still don't remember that noise on decel. (Got a police officer shaking his head at me when I was revving it to 2 grand. WOT would equal a Ticket) I only left it like that for about a month, it was just too loud. Crap I must be getting older because in my younger days that would have been perfect.
Funny, the cans look pretty small on the corsa. The B&B's are more of an oval design (even bigger in volume to the stock canisters).
Re: Anyone had this happen with their KOOKS headers?
Tony, you and me both!!! you and me both! i cringe when i go over 4k rpms... even with the windows up, let me know if the magnaflows resolve the issue!!!!!!!
Re: Anyone had this happen with their KOOKS headers?
The decel cackle is from the decel fuel cut off. Stealth has and option to tune it out or you can do it with hptuners or efi live. Still going to pop a little. It is loud from behind the car to those not in the know.

The Corsa issue is definately not the decel fuel cutoff. It's the RSC baffles 'rattling' in the rear cans. It goes away after they have heated up and expanded. Annoying as hell though.

I have a StealthV tune with the burbling tuned out- this is a metallic buzzing rattle, not the normal V8 popping. Mine does not go away when warmed up like Trukk's, and yes, it is annoying as hell. A co-worker was behind me on the way to lunch the other day and asked me what's wrong with the car.
Re: Anyone had this happen with their KOOKS headers?
I talked to Corsa a while back and they seemed willing to help- asked me to go wiggle the cans and see if they were rattling (which they weren't). I think the problem is like Rob and Trukk suggested- that something in Corsa's RSC baffles sounds funny with headers. I've come to the conclusion that the mufflers aren't defective, just not to my liking when paired with headers.
I ordered the Magnaflow canisters from Summit Racing today (same ones used in the Magnaflow Catback for our cars), so we'll see how that goes. I'll post up before and after clips, as well as the used Corsa canisters in the classifieds. I'll be interested to see how it sounds since it'll be the first of it's type (Kooks headers, Magnaflow cats, Corsa resonator and Magnaflow mufflers). I think I'll dub it my "Frankenstein exhaust".

BTW, I have had this issue with Corsa longer than I've had headers. So it's been an issue for a while.

Me too. I was thinking it might be defective mufflers, but a I did a quick Youtube search of brand new Corsa systems on Mustangs, Vs and more, and all have that same faint "clatter" on decel. The headers make it worse.
UPS tracking shows the Magnaflows arriving tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have them installed tomorrow night or Thursday- then we'll know if it's the canisters for sure. If not, my expensive scavenger hunt for this noise will continue.
