I am using that one now, but forget being able to see a leak (gasket is black)

Mine were custom made and the turn time was about a week.
By the way, I do not own this company, or have any stock in it. |

Percy's Carbon Gaskets are included with the Kooks headers. I almost didn't even notice the little "Percy's" logo on the bag before removing them.

Kooks or B&B?
| This is a good question!!!
I'm thinking the LS2 will benefit from the complete 3" B&B system due to the added cubes over the LS6.
Anyone else? |

I have seen both and decided to install the B&B second Gen Long tubes. If you put the headers side by side you will ask yourself "Why did I spend the same amount of money for Kooks Headers???"
Head flanges were flatter (Kooks spec is a little too loose for me)
B&B actually cleans the headers (Kooks does not)
B&B header pipes were smooth and the bends were perfect (Kooks bends OK but had clamp marks were the help the tube)
Mates up perfectly with the B&B exhaust (Kooks requires cutting and welding to mate up, have a kit for Corsa)
B&B only makes a 1 3/4" tube Header (Kooks can do up to 2" from what I have read in another post)
B&B packing will get the headers to you without a dent (Kooks does a verrry poor job of packing the headers, Pipe was poking out of the box when I got mine)
If you have the B&B exhaust then it's a no brainer unless you want to Clean the headers, pay more to install the headers, and deal with the gasket leaks - go with the B&B long tube headers.
Now it may sound like I would never use the Kooks headers but the truth is they are good and you would be happy with them. If you plan to go high horsepower then the Kooks are the only way to go. If I could have got the Kooks headers for about $300 dollars less I may have gone that route but I figured this it what it would have cost me to get them to equal the B&B out of the box.
B&B quality = 9.5
Kooks Quality = 7.0

Anyone else? | It didn't hurt mine. The torque is pretty impressive considering the motor is stock and the only real adder is the headers.
Not sure that it makes that much of a diff over the LS6, only .3 cubes. |

When I recieved mine they were wrapped in bubble wrap, and had peanuts around them. Perhaps because they went from TByrne to JetHot prior to showing up at my door.
The quality seems amazing to me. The internal pipes were perfectly clean, and all my beands looksed exceptional.
Perhaps I'm just being biased. My only gripe with the Kooks is the passenger front tube bends a bit sharp, and tends to contact the plug wire there (at least on my set).
Overall though, I'm very happy with my set of Kooks.

You did it the right way but when I bought mine that wasn't an option. Even if it was I would have brought them in to me first, straighten the Head flange, put on the 3" flange for the B&B setup and then send out to Jet-Hot....
Ooorr By a set from B&B and install. Made sense for my setup.
Don't have a problem with the plug wires either.
The bottom line is if you buy the Kooks be prepared to work on them before installing them. Could be as simple as sending them to Jet-Hot but you need to do something. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
