Please give me ideas or how you did yourz
1. I am thinking of the Corsa Exhaust. Where should I buy? What is the lowest asking price for this system? how much is the complete install and purchase? How much did you pay and what would you change if anything?
2. I want to lower the car but do not know what I need to do this. I want my ride to look lower but do not want to lose a fender or rub the tires. Who should I go to and how/ what they should know? How much am I looking at spending? Does anyone have good expierence in this process?
Please reply because I dont want to make a mistake and then later type out my sorrows in another thread. Please reply to my questions without asking too many questions. If you dont have too much time to go into detail just type what you can...
Thanks,

You can buy the Corsa exhaust from several places- Tbyrne Motorsports and Lindsay Cadillac tend to have the best prices and service. You can install it yourself if you have ramps and a socket wrench- it's that easy. Hang everything up, adjust, then tighten the clamps.
There are several lowering kits for the V, but the Ground Control seems to be the most popular. Both of these mods have been discussed in detail here, so I'd start with a search to answer most of your questions.
Congrats on the V, and kiss your spare money goodbye.

Rey Rey 650.... Next time you drive your pickup through Nashville, let me know. My stock one-piece exhaust is leaning up against my garage. I doubt I'll ever go back....

Rey Rey,
Yes I will sell the old exhaust to you. Just be patient I have to wait for about 4 weeks. That is when I will have time to install the exhaust.
Tony Show,
Were can I go to find "Ground Control" pricing? Is this the system you have on your V?
Sorry if I seem needy and I could easily look this stuff up myself but I only have 5-10min on the net each day at work.
Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I know the supporting vendors here sell 'em, but I got a Corsa on eBay over a year ago for under $1k shipped to my door. Think it's now a couple of hundred more, if you can find them. Easy install, too.
To lower, go with Ground Control. If you want more than about 1" lower, forget it; you'll be rubbing everywhere like a trainer for a losing team.

Keep in mind that everybody has a different opinion of what makes a great aftermarket exhaust, but if you want the exhaust to be super quiet most of the time (not much louder than the stock system) but very lout at WOT, then go with the Corsa. But if you are like me and wanted a little louder all the time with a nice deep rumble at idle and great musclecar sound at WOT, go with the Magnaflow. It is the cheapest, the lightest, and IMO the best of all the aftermarket choices.
As far as the lowering, I ordered my GC Kit directly from them here: http://www.ground-control-store.com/index.php
I went with the 600/650 lb spring rates and love it for the track but it might be slightly rough (not too bad, just slightly) for an everyday driver, which mine is not.
It is a great kit and will really help your V's stance and handling. Another thing, if you will be lowering around 1" or more, you will need to go with the C5 Z06 enlinks in the front ONLY. The stock endlinks will break on a lowered V. You can get them from GMPartsdirect.com for a good price and you will need to buy the nuts for them seperately at Lowes (M12x1.75 nylock nuts).
Hope this is helpful.

Another vote for the Magneflow's - Car sounds so different with them vs stock. Almost night and day. I shit you not, but the other day a guy behind me at a stop light had his cell phone out the window for his buddy to hear the exhaust note as I took off. Folks dont expect to "hear" a Caddy growl these days |

I absolutely love the exhaust note these muffs give. I get a lot of compliments on the grunt of my V since the Magnaflow cat back was installed. Here's a vid of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zd6k6OMcxg |

I am going to check out both options then let everyone know. Thanks for your time!

The toughest part is going to be getting that one-piece stock exhaust system down without injury. The Corsa or Magnaflow are both in a bunch of easily handled pieces.
I LOVE my Corsa and shocked a tailgating kid in a new Mustang GT last weekend in I-40 when an old bald guy in a Caddy blew him away in a mound of sound when he tried to blow past me. I backed off with him in my rear view at 149....
What a perfectly cool geezer ride!
