Question Exhaust System for the 05

Remove this ad
Ok here is the story, i am overseas, and the possibilities of me hearin the notes of available exhaust systems are slim to ONE...Slim left and i am that one...Add in the fact that i am not filthy wealthy puts me in a one hit wonder catagory...

I am looking for a nice header to cat-back kit...I was thinkin of getting the Stainless Works system...CTSVH and CTSVEHR. The second code is for a 3" resonated exhaust system...

Corsa i HATE, very loud on the outside, and annoying on the inside...Did one on a Hummer, and a GTO and i scared a girl so bad she jumped back 4 feet when i started the engine...I later put on a resonator, but what a drag, clearance was too low...

I hear borla is just NOISE, and magnaflow is just 2.5"...

If anyone has a complete kit and is able to talk normally while acceleratin gradually and cruising at 80mph with the windows closed...PLEASE let me know...

Mine fits this latter criteria, but is not a single kit.

But, it's all moot if you don't like Corsa.

Moot?

What does that mean? As for not a single kit, what did you piece together?

Re: Exhaust System for the 05

My configuration is probably the least noisy headers/hi-flo cat/cat back setup out there at idle and cruise, but is not a single kit ... you'd have to make two phone calls, not one.

I believe, if you went with any other cat back (Magnaflow, B&B, Borla, Zoomers, etc), they would all be louder than mine. You don't want that, but you don't like Corsa either, so it's "moot" ... it doesn't matter.

Now, you could do a search here. A couple of guys modified their stock mufflers by removing some of the stuffing. Might be a solution. Good luck.

Rand - Please let us know your secret to making the Corsa quiet with Headers and High Flow Cats.

Thanks

Re: Exhaust System for the 05

I cannot speak to the Corsa for other models of vehicles, but on the CTS-V it is one of the most quiet systems at idle and cruising out of them all. Now you put headers in front of it and go WOT and it can sound close to a car with cut outs, but normal driving and it's "quiet"
