So my take at this point is i knew some parts were missing. Zues told me the heat exchanger was damaged when he received it before he shipped it to me and unfortunately it was found to be unrepairable. While i was very nervous when i didnt hear from him when the thing shipped late i can't really complain about anything other than that. This weekend i'll finish strapping this puppy on and then we'll see how it works out and go from there.
So back to the technical aspect of this:
1) I told you all how i took out the AC condensor. Well i went to get it refilled today and they said it holds the charge, vaccum test ran fine, but when the compressor comes on there's a spike in the pressure and the compressor turns itself off. He said this could be due to a kink in the pipe of some sort of clog... Are there any special tricks to the A/C system that i should know about? Guess i'll take those two pipes off the condensor again and check them out. From what i can see thugh they arent bent. I just hope i can get to them without removing the front end again.
2) I've started the task of running the magnavolt wire from the trunk. Instructions say to just follow the fuel/brake lines. Well when they get near the exhaust manifold they have some heat shielding on them. Will the magnavolt wire melt if i run it through there? or do i loop below the frame and go through the wheel well? Just wondering what you other folks may have done.
Magnuson was nice enough to provide me with the GM part # of the IAT sensor they use, so i don't have to pay their marked up price and wait for shipping. Nice guys over there. The tuner and coolant pipe should be here this week and i'll hit it a final time (i hope) on Saturday. Thanks again for the help guys! |

Clean the surface real well of what your gonna stick the tape to.
I can't imagine what you did to the A/C but you really screwed up disconnecting it.
WELCOME TO "MOD HELL".

As far as the AC, im hoping maybe just the rubber bushing got in the way? Hope its an easy fix, else it's off to the dealer. Maybe i can convince them it's under warranty? haha Yea right |

So i am in the process of replacing the actuator when i realize the adjustment screw won't come off of the old one. I can get the screw part out, but the things it threads into is either part of the old actuator or just really really crammed in there. You can see from the pic i've gummed it up pretty well trying to get it out. My solution will likely include using the same screw and get 2 small nuts to go with it. Seems like it would work, what do ya'll think? Hopefully this will be the only thing "rigged" to work..
placing one nut on each side should do the trick right? |

Call them and I bet they exchange the one they sent you. |

Glad i read through the install manual yet again tonight and saw that i needed that.
So whoever uninstalled this thing tanked all the wires from the relay for the intercooler harness. I hooked them up according to the zoomed in and grainy pic from the install manual. Can anyone confirm i have this correct? If you can confirm at least one wire im sure i can figure out the rest! Thanks!! |

That is an end piece and you won't need it (maybe).
(extra part to you)
As for your relay, I need more info: what wires go where and relay pinout. |

I'll add that fitting in the pic to my bag of "extra" parts. Below you can see the expanded pic i took from the install manual. I feel like i mimicked it accurately, problem is that i can't tell which side has the mounting tab so i assumed it was the side facing down in the manual picture. Does this help? |

You can plug it into the pump motor and test it.
Got a meter?
The coil of the relay is connected to the two black wires and the yellow wire.
The large guage wire goes to the n/o contact.
The red wire to the motor goes on the C contact along with the other black wire.
Your setup looks correct. |

Do you think these two parts and approx 24" of appropriately sized hose could make up the fuel line extension? Where's McGuyver when I need him?!!! |

Thanks for checkin it out! |

It is a pressure bearing part and needs to be correct and secured.
You don't want to be spraying gas all over your nice hot motor |

The yellow wire should operate the relay, and the pump should run.
Connect the yellow wire to + to trigger the relay | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
