So now my question to everyone, is how much is my stock cat-back worth? I usually sell everything on ebay, but if anyone here wants it I will be getting the magnaflow in the next 2 weeks.

Where are you getting the magnaflow exhaust and which cats are you using? Do you need any extra pieces to make it fit. I was planning on using the same setup so this would be very helpful. TIA. |

Most people can find a local buyer and I've seen prices anywhere between free and $100. The problem with e-bay is its more likely the buyer wont be local and shipping on an intact exhaust system will be cost-prohibitive. Thanks in advance for helping out your fellow forum members and I hope you'll enjoy your new headers/exhaust!!! |

Local pickup is the only way you'll sell it, as it is one huge piece, and on the forum is the cheapest way and easiest way to sell it as well!
DDS is right on the money as a local cts guy will buy it locally right away for $100!
One more thing! Obviously post your location here and you may get rid of it today or have a buyer ready for when you're ready! |

You can sell your stock exhaust in a heartbeat, but why? You will only get $100-150 for it. It is foreseeable that you will sell the car someday, and you will find that an aftermarket exhaust system is not an asset on resale. Then, if you strugle to return to stock you may not be able to readily find a stock exhaust for $100.
Further, the exhaust combo you have chosen is fairly loud. You may find the drone of exhaust noise at highway speeds a bit of a bore.
The big horsepower gain is in the long-tube headers. You might first try just the headers alone. There is only a minor exhaust noise increase with just headers. Then, if you feel you need more add the cat back exhaust. |
