I ordered some C5 FRCs off Ebay, and am cutting them using StealthV's excellent instructions, but what a pain in the balls. I wish Stealth still offered these pre-cut to fit our cars, but now I see why he doesn't.
I'm from the "take off a little at a time" school of thought, as you can always take off more, so my night went like this:
Cut a little.
Test fit.
Nope.
Cut a little.
Test fit.
Nope.
*repeat ad infinitum*
They do look cooler in person than in pictures though, and even though I'm going to eliminate the "Corvette" lettering, I'm digging the Black + Red. Maybe black with "Cadillac" in a Corvette style font?
This thread serves no real purpose other than as a warning to those who plan on modding the covers to fit. You have been warned.

Use the Dremel tool and the rasp attachment - it cuts the plastic like butter and it's easy to shape. Yup, you gotta go back and forth to shape it just as needed, but it should be easy |

Seriously though, cutting them was easy as sh*t! I used a jig saw with metal cutting blade and it was cake. Another thing, I have a total of $60 invested in mine and yeah I saw some of those other covers for upwards of $300 and I only shake my head! Even the carbon fiber ones, if you gave them to me, I would sell them! The corvette ones, in my opinion, do their job of telling everyday Joe's that it is a corvette engine! Also, you should have told me you were buying those as I had another person with em for the same $60 I paid. Some corvette couple has a mini junk yard for vettes in Miami and gets them used all the time. |

I don't care if it is a "Corvette" engine, I own a Cadillac. And if you spent 30, 40 or 50+ grand on a Caddy, what's $300 for a great looking engine? And you know what? I can work and make up the $240 you guys saved in the time it takes you to rig your own.
So slap that, Sally!

As far as spending the money, well..... Part of the reason I have plenty of it is that I don't waste it when not necessary. |

And when I get the BMR brace in there, it'll look even better. Don't mind this shot. I've since cleaned the engine bay. |

Might need more track money soon...I'll consider it.
