Just Bought a CTS-V the end of last year and very happy with it except for the problem with the wheel hop and the exhaust is just a little too quiet.
I had a firebird and I put an exhaust that you could here from probably 2 miles away. I don't want it to be loud however I do want a deeper sound and I have always liked the Borla exhaust sound.
I like the Cadillac because it rides nice, handles well, oh yeah it has power. I want to keep the ride quility as close to the way it is right now but I do want it a little louder.
Has anyone installed this exhaust yet?
If so are you happy with it?
Does anyone recommend a differet exhaust? Why? |

A three inch dia is all your ever gonna be able to put under there.
I just took off my X pipe and added the resonator and cats.
What a differance.(Gee no kidding?)
I wonder why..........

If you don't want cabin noise, go Corsa or Zoomers. |

What I'm looking for:
1- An agressive sound that isn't too loud (louder is OK, Wanted)
2- Performance gain (If I'm going to spend this kind of money, would like the car to go faster.)
Looks like everyone is against the Borla so I'm glad I started this Thread. A couple of people have said the Corsa exhaust is the way to go but I heard a corsa exhaust on a C5 but I didn't really care for the sound.
I would imagine the exhaust for the V could sound different and the proof is in the Posts!
I will be looking into:
1- Zoomers
2- B&B
3- Corsa
4- Others?
BTW, How hard is it to change the headers? they look pretty tough to get to.
Again, Thanks for the info.

Use the search function or go to the FAQ's (Reed's site: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/).
There is a ton of info on header install.
I have had both the Corsa and the B&B.
The B&B can go from obnoxious to civilized. |

Rob | I wouldn't agree that everyone is "against" Borla. Borla generally makes a damn fine product. The only complaint I heard was that it might have some drone to it, but I know of a few members that LOVED how it looked.
The only exhaust systems that I'm aware of that don't have significant drone is Zoomers and Corsa. Both are fine products & have their share of people who swear by it. Here is a write-up on Zoomers: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/zoomers.html
(You can hear Zoomers exhaust clips on their website, both supercharged and NA cars are on the site)
B&B also makes a damn fine product. It's probably a littler louder than both Corsa and Zoomers, but I'm told it has much more drone. Personally, drone isn't that bad to me, but it's nice to not have it.
Another exhaust you might want to consider is Magnaflow. Personally, I believe this exhaust is popular as it provides great bang-for-your-buck, but there are some who believe that it's quality isn't up to par with Zoomers and Corsa.
I believe you should try and hear as many exhausts as you can and form your own opinion. That's the only way to know if you are going to be happy with it or not, for they all sound a little different.
One other thing--do NOT purchase an exhaust system for performance reasons (NOT including headers in this comment by the way). They are generally very small. Yeah, you will probably get some results, but not that significant. |

I have went to the link you provided and the information was top notch.
I went to the Zoomers Web site and these mufflers sound good. I need to check out the B&B mufflers and the Magna Flows got some Kudo's. I had MagnaFlows on the Firebird, sounded great with the V8 but they were quite loud.
Anybody local got the B&B's on their ride?
are the Kooks Headers CA legal?
As far as performance I realize The gains are small but what I've learned over the years is the better it breathes the better it goes.
Thanks for the input on Bassani SkullV I forgot about them. I am going to do a little reserch on them as well, always liked Bassani and always wanted one of their exhausts but never installed one.
The Magna Flows I had were old so I will also check into them as well.
Thanks Everyone!! |

Sounds awsome, however, it does resonate some at highway crusing speed.

I think Heavy currently has B&B on his V and he also had Corsa as well. He might be a terrific source to compare/contrast those 2 systems. You can generally find him at our CA V meets.
As far as performace gains, I wouldn't expect more than, say, 15 rwhp (perhaps less) and, say, 10 rwtq. Nice, yes, but nothing that is going to make a significant difference.
No type of header is smog legal in CA at the moment. You will, in theory, fail the "visual" exam with headers every time. I am aware, however, that there are some who can get past the visual part of the exam regardless of headers or not. |

stock headers with a CORSA.
B&B headers with the CORSA.
B&B headers with "X" pipe and no cats (very loud, stopped twice and ticketed once for "noise" WHOO HOO!).
B&B headers with resonator and cats (current configuration and I can actually hear the maggie whine now).
My $.02?
Get the B&B and buy the "X" pipe and the replacement cat pipes and fittings so all you have to do is unbolt the thing to swap out.
Track exhaust and a street exhaust.
If you stay with stock headers, you will need to have adapters made to mate up to the B&B properly (just get the headers too). |

Fit and finish are tops also. Install was a breeze as everything was just right (I watched).
Dont have headers, but thinking about it seriously once I can find someone in SOCAL that can install them for me. I am disabled and cannot install myself.
