Abnormal Collant Loss

Has anyoe experianced abnormal coolant loss? For the past few months I've had to top of the coolant several times. On average, about every two weeks with about 24 ounces. Just Friday I did a drain/flush/fill with Dexcool and first thing this morning the "Check Coolant Light" came on again. The TEMP gauge is normal so it's not running hot...

Re: Abnormal Collant Loss

I had the radiator changed and I still get the message "Coolant level low".

Good Luck

Re: Abnormal Collant Loss

I haven't seen any leaks in my regular parking spaces. But I think it seems to occur more often when I'm driving like a race car driver. High RPM's = Loss of coolant perhaps?
Z06CTSV, was the radiator under warranty replacement?

Re: Abnormal Collant Loss

I didn't see any evidence of a coolant leak and yet I got the same "low coolant" warning every couple of months. Just took it in and they gave me a new radiator. So far, so good.

Re: Abnormal Collant Loss

Thanks for the info. Under warranty, Tustin Cadillac replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat. Back to normal. Great Servicefrom Jack H.

Re: Abnormal Collant Loss

The crimp on the factory tank is not strong enough for '04 and early some '05.
The new radiator has a stronger crimp.
It drips on the lower shroud and collects so you rarely see any on the ground.
It's more likely for it to come off the shroud while driving.
Glad you got it fixed.
