The Corvette looks HOT

1000HP sounds like a lot but did you know Lund Performance got over 1000 horse power from the little 3.2 V6 CTS engine! He raced it a Bonneville salt flats.

Re: 1000+ Horsepower..

Good to see you got a Z, Will. Which one will be the weapon of choice for trackdays?...I bet I know...

Hopefully you'll come down to the autoxes this Summer... and we should meet up for the season's HPDEs.

Best of luck with the new Z...be safe and have fun.

Be good,
Tom

WW
WW or others, here's a link of the 1100HP 3.2 at Bonneville. This car is capable of much more and was running very little boost. Click the start button to play the video.

The car is so highly modified that it may not be the OEM differential?

Re: 1000+ Horsepower..

He makes it a point about how "everything is stock" in the car. Yea, right.
Semantics, maybe, but when you build an engine it is no longer stock. When you strap on big honkin boost, it is no longer stock. When you lower the suspension it is no longer stock. When you strip out the interior, it is no longer stock. Don't get me wrong. Cudos to them and the speeds they obtained. But, they didn't do it with a stock vehicle.

Rear end? They're not drag racing. They're not road racing. Driving in a straight line @ speed leaves the rear to just handle the RPM's. But I doubt it's stock, either.

BOT, nice rides man. Love the vette. Got the V.

They also added weight ballast also in order to reduce high speed "lifting". They also pointed out that the engine was only using moderate boost for those runs and they left a lot still on the table.

Re: 1000+ Horsepower..

Big Will! I just got back from my "exterminating"/hunting trip. I'm off until the 12th so we'll definitely meet up. I should be available any time all week.

Re: 1000+ Horsepower..

Thats a very beautiful picture, you're truly a lucky man. Hopefully one day I'll be looking at those two cars side by side in my possession. Both with mods of course.
