No, not there. | | | Official GM iPod kit for CTS-V I just ordered my official GM iPod interface for my CTS-V through my GM accessories rep. No cutting or splicing involved, it's a pass-through connection that goes between the wire harness into the radio. Made by Apple for GM.
I'll report back as to how it works once it's in. Just thought everyone would like to know.

As far as cost, I get things for the super-duper-top secret dealer price (there's a special handshake). I'll send James at Lindsay the Part # in case he hasn't noticed it in the system yet (it just showed up..). Since he's a Supporting Vendor and I'm just a lowly member, I'll leave the selling of them to forum members to him. |

It will operate without conflict with installations including XM satellite receivers, CD changers or Rear Entertainment systems.
Features: Activate iPOD mode, Cycle through song details, Change songs (up & down), Quick Search, Fast FWD or RWD songs, Playlist Search and Activate optional 2nd device.
I take that to mean it will work on non-nav radios also, but that's just an assumption. I'm sure if mine works good that I can try it out on a stock unit without Nav for you guys. |

After a few more Google searches, my guess is this unit was actually designed by a company called Coastal Electronic Technologies (they are mentioned in the PDF), manufactured by Smartpark.net/Zorg Industries, and now sold by GM. http://www.coastaletech.com
Looking around their site, I also found this usefull gizmo: http://http://www.coastaletech.com/universal_video.htm Many vehicles are now being offered with factory navigation systems and display screens for vehicle information. With the plug-in installation of the Universal Viewtech these screens can now display up to 2 separate video sources of your choosing! Features: 2 Video Inputs Video1 source automatically selected when car is placed in reverse. This allows a rear view camera to integrate seamlessly with your factory display Color, Brightness, and Contrast and Tint fully adjustable on Controller Video2 source selected with simple switch or optional Keypad Controller Keypad Controller allows digital adjustment of Color, Brightness, and Contrast and Tint Factory Connectors to match your installation Use widely available FM modulator to add sound for full multimedia
It lists "2005-2005 GM [Nav] without touch screen" as an option. Interesting.

That was $60, so I'm just tring to figure out if it is all worth it. |

I would say it works ok at best and should be a temporary thing until one decides to get or can afford the ipod kit. If you love music you'll notice the quality of these transmitters arent all that great and on some occaissions you'll even hear static. To some this is tolerable...but if this GM product is good i would and will purchase it. just my opinion
The Transmitter, however, is good to have if you have several cars or would like to use it in a freinds car or something... Also, it beats making cds and going through the trouble of deciding what songs to cram on a cd.
