Spent two hours in the car today driving to see family and had no cutouts or problems with the kit. For those wondering if this one had the same problems as the RM kit, it would appear not.

It works a lot better than the stupid little FM thingy I was using before.
A couple issues with it though - it seems to scroll really slowly through the playlist - and there is some cracking and popping in the background - not a huge amount but when I unplg the ipod I can hear it -
Anyone else have this issue? |

I listen to a lot of stand-up comedy (long periods of silence), so I would think I'd hear it if it was there. |

I bought an iPod for use in the caddy, waiting for the R&M kit to come out... now, I think it might be time to jump on this...
Damn iPod doesn't even have any music on it yet and I've had it since June!!! |

After abut 2/3 calls to my local Caddy dealer to educate them to what the iConnect accessory is they contacted GM and came back with a price of $375 installed. It appears to be a great feature but a bit pricy for an accessory that should a standard item. Also the scheduling to have this installed is a bit strange in that one has to go through the parts dept. to contact the GM/Delco offical installer to be at the dealer for the installation instead of the normal service dept. process. |

I have the R&M kit, which is working fine by the way, and installed it myself (with Reed's input ) and that one required opening the front panel containing the radio. |

I think the rear deck is much harder to remove than the radio.
Still looking for an install procedure on the GM kit.. Anyone want to write it up?

1- Remove package shelf
2- Unplug factory harness from XM receiver
3- Plug iPod harness into XM receiver
4- Plug factory wire harness into iPod harness
5- Run cable from XM receiver to wherever you want your iPod to sit.
6- Reinstall package shelf |

Remember when encoding the MP3's on the IPOD use at least 128kbps (CD quality). XM and Sirrus use 64kbps hence thier sound quality is poor. I mght purchae the kit and install it myself since my local dealer is charging $375 installed.... | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
