It has new RSA tires but not the run flat models. I mentioned this to the dealer and they have offered to get me a spare kit. Spoke to the Service Mgr and they explained that the kit would remove the current spare tub with the hump in the middle so you can't drop a tire in. kit will include a spare for the V, jack etc. So it sounds legit asuuming the spare has 6 mounting holes.
Kit on order and should be in this week. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this or has it yet.
If not I'll let ya'll know how it turns out and what the part number is if interested. |

Wow, if you really do a get a wheel and tire for free, that will be something to post about - I havent heard of any wheels for the V except OEM and relatively expensive aftermarket ones! Thanks to the FAQ section, I ordered the parts and have bought a used OEM wheel and used one of my old runflats as the spare - all in about $250. It works great and fits very nicely with the wheel upside down, cover fits right over it. |

I went the GM Parts Direct route, too. Works great. I did find out the hard way that if you put the spare wheel/tire face down, you need to protect the wheel as it will get scuffed up against the bottom of the well.
Hey, svassh, are you getting a spacesaver spare by any chance? I think that would be new. I'd get one in a flash if it became available. |

I know the tub's got to be removed (FAQ), but I was unaware that there was a spare tire kit for the V. The service mgr at Sewell Grapevine told me a CTS spare would fit on the V, so you may want to ask them if they are planning on ordering some type of "new" spare, or just a regular CTS spare. The jack, etc should work very well no matter what, and if you get a type of V spare, I know everyone here (myself included) would really like to know more about that!
Looks like you're in HV too, TXSilverV and I are here are well...we should get together... |

Not to get too far off track, but while at the local Autozone I noticed that they have a kit similar to the Z06 kit--it has the mini air compressor, a can of fix a flat, and a couple other items all packaged into a small cube. Price was $19.99. I didn't get one, but once my run-flats are gone, I'll probably pick one up for the price and convenience.

I purchased 4 extra RSA's Runflats with wheels and pressure sensor on EBAY($900 with 50 miles on them), and used one of them as a spare(fits great once one removes the 'TUB' thing. Also purchased from a re-cycle(PC version of a junk yard) place the jack kit($50) from a 05 CTS that fits into the center of the wheel. Had to modify the hold down clamp but it all fits and the car is of the rare variety that has a real spare tire..... |

My girlfriend has an '05 Stealth Grey CTS-V and is replacing the runflats with normal tires. So now I'm looking into spare tire options.
What happened with this spare? Was it 5 or 6 lug?
Has anyone here looked into a 6 to 5 lug wheel adapater just for use with the spare? http://www.skulte.com/product_info.php/products_id/77 http://www.wheeladapter.com/home.asp

When I bought my certified 05 CTS-V it had Goodyear F-1s non runflat and yes it also had a spare, with a jack and all the goodies. Interestingly my spare is full size, with the same brand tire but it is mounted on that accessory wheel that Caddy sells for the CTS-V, I guess the previous owener got them to give him one when the runflats died. |
