My local dealer said they saw 1 CTS-V before. I need to find a dealer
in the Chicago area before I really need to.

That's not the whole truth. Some do. But MOST dealerships (Lindsay excluded) do not hardly know this car.
It looks like Tire Rack is finally out of the Millie wheel for the V. Too bad because that was a pretty good deal to make a spare with.

John | Sorry about the psuedo-threadjack but the topic is along the same lines so I will ask anyway. I would rather just do this kit for piece of mind but I heard that the fix-a-flat could screw up the TPSs, does anybody have experience with this? I though somebody once said that you could just wash of a TPS coated with the fix-a-flat stuff and it would work just fine. Anybody know?

Found the remainder of the kit on FAQ. |

You have a PM.
I have a "V" wheel mounted with an almost new runflat, tub, jack and handle for sale. I"m in Conroe so you could pick it up.

I am looking for 3 stock CTS-V wheels in poor cosmetic (CHEAP) but perfect functional condition. I just need a set of track rims and I already have one road rashed rim.

Kit on order and should be in this week. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this or has it yet.
If not I'll let ya'll know how it turns out and what the part number is if interested. | What ever happened with this, did you get a spare wheel/tire with the kit, or was it just the jack etc.?
I'm looking for the hookup myself.
Anybody else explored the wheel hub adaptors for use with a cheap steel wheel?
The SRX has the same lug spacing as the CTS-V and there is a 17 x 4 (donut) spare offered with the SRX. I'm going to try and find one at a junkyard. That along with a 10mm spacer should work, I think, I don't know about the diameter, though, might take some work.
A donut spare would be pretty sweet, weight savings wise. |

Does anyone know if there is a reason the factory jack or container listed in the FAQ would not fit in the SRX spare? |

The SRX donut is only a 4" wide wheel, compared to the stock CTS-V 8", so there will be space in the spare tire wheel well for the wheel, the jack, and probably a few pizzas, too.
I have no idea how to tell what will be required to make the donut fit on the car though, I think the trick will be brake clearance.
The SRX has a 51mm offset, compared to the V's 42mm. Not sure how that will affect things since the donut is so much thinner than a standard wheel.
There maybe a spacer involved, which would be a hassle, but might be worth it.
Maybe I can find a local SRX owner, borrow their spare, and see how it fits. Anybody have an SRX hookup or know anyone over in the SRX area? I'll drop a post over there and see if any lives/works around me. |

I will go over Monday on my lunch break and see if they will let me test it out... I will bring my camera |

Not sure if we'll be able to tell about the fit without actually trying to get the spare on the car though...but definitely worth a good look. |

Either way... you really only need to clear the rear brakes... It would just be a pain moving the rear tire to the front then putting the spare on back. |

I don't know. An online wheel offset calculator that I found says that a 5mm spacer would work, but I have no experience in this matter (and that's assuming that the donut will have the same offset as the stock SRX wheel, which is probably not right at all, now that I think about it.)
I just bought my V and haven't even taken a wheel off yet!
I'm just looking for a light-weight spare-tire solution so I don't have to lug 40#s of tire in my trunk all-day everyday.
I'm waiting (not so) patiently for Eric's findings. Quote:
